Friday evenings are a regular visit from us. Food is lovely, fish is so crispy and not greasy at all. We haven't had a bad meal here yet. And it's a bonus the drinks are cheap too. Cheap evening out �

First time in this pub for ages. Steaks cooked to a turn , nice glass of wine , excellent value ,warm with a good atmosphere and very courteous staff. Best spoons in Barnsley for sure.

Always use this as a starting point for beer run in tarn, and also have lunch here when shopping. always polite staff. not only cheap food and alcohol, but quality also. Only downside to this place, sometimes get a few dick heads because of prices.

My wife and I went in on a wet and miserable morning and was greeted with a nice warm atmosphere, sat down looked at the menu went and ordered the food and drink, the staff in spoke to where nice and friendly informing us of where the coffee machine etc was, the food came in good time and as usual was of a good standard.

Will I visit again, a big yes!!

Lovely breakfast, quick and polite service, hash browns were a bit greasy but overall it was really tasty, do they use free range eggs? I forgot to ask when I was getting served

Food was good, range of drinks fairly good, prices were as to be expected at Wetherspoons. Had a real good day there. Love the Devils Backbone American IPA, was drinking it all day.

Always found staff friendly good place to start night out cheap beer and fit to drink unlike brammahs sometimes

Not happy that the no smoking section as gone from outside, it used to be half and half but now its all smoking!!!!

My lunch of hallumi I and sweet chilli wrap and chips was good value,, really nice,,, my husband had a jacket potato and chilli,,, looked dried up ,,,, cut into it and there was loads of bad eyes ( black bits where they should have bin cut out when preparing,,, ) I wouldn't have ate it but my husband was hungry and we were in a rush,,, hopefully it was a one off,,,

I took part in the quiz the The Joseph Bramah last Thursday with a couple of friends & heard that there was a quiz here on Monday nights.



On the strength of this, I came along with a friend & when after around an hour or so, there was no sign of the quiz starting, I asked one of the staff. I was informed that the quiz had been cancelled, probably shortly before I arrived, as there was only 1 group wanting to take part.



Is this a one off or does the quiz regularly get cancelled?



On the plus side, there was a good selection of ales available, the Lemongrass Thai IPA in particular & some very good customer service, particularly from Graham (I think that's his name!).

Friendly staff but no cask beer and heaters outside apparently have never been wired up. So if your a non smoker and don't like cask beer it's for you. Shame really has it has great potential

Bit disappointed that we wanted jacket potatos and at lunch time they had run out. Everything else wasn't amazing calories wise

The meal we ordered was rubbish I ordered chicken tikka it came with nan bread that was burnt and popordoms was very greesy and my partner ordered mix grill lots off fat on meat wunt be going back to that weatherspoons

Manager was ignorant and there was 2 children under 4 years old running riot all over the pub pulling baubles off the Xmas tree and throwing and kicking them this was after 8pm and was there hrs after consuming there food but there policy I was told in the past that children are to leave 20mins after food

Today I was disgusted

All through winter I have walked down with my 2 British bulldogs who are well behaved and sat outside with the wife and son

We even sat next to one of the managers last week



But today because it’s busy and sunny

We told by bar staff we can’t sit outside with the dogs

Me and my husband went for a breakfast was horrible beans only just warm, poor quality sausages bacon really salty mushrooms and egg really greasy won't be going again !

Me and my husband have been coming here often with our 2 British bulldogs sitting outside having a couple of drinks relaxing without nothing been said but today we got turned away because the sun is out and it was busy disgusted is an understatement obviously our money isn’t good enough
