Wanted a nice treat for my mum and I before my baby arrived. We were not disappointed with our visit to The Spiced Pear. The staff were very pleasant and attentive and I was able to swap out the fish for cheese selection offered with the afternoon tea. All sandwiches and cakes were fresh and delicious and extremely filling. With the sun shining through the windows and the gorgeous views we had a lovely afternoon, thank you.

Ohhhh what a lovely place to visit ... I wanted something nice for my moms 70 th birthday and Annabelle and her team definitely pulled out all stops to create this for me



Little gems on the table , glass off prosecco , sung happy birthday, the afternoon tea was beautiful, my husband had the gentlemans afternoon tea and he was well impressed .... I have recommended to lots of my friends who will be coming to visit you and once again thank you so very much we won't forget you in a rush that's for certain x

My friend booked us in for afternoon tea as part of my birthday present and we were not disappointed the food was lovely and the staff and service was spot on we were sat down the stairs and had a lovely view out of the window will be back

Me and some of my mummy friends came for a festive afternoon tea. They were really helpful and worked hard to make sure we were comfortable with our babies and had room for prams. The afternoon tea was lovely and we’ll definitely be back.

Lovely afternoon celebrating my auntie’s 50th birthday. Beautiful setting and very accommodating for wheelchair access. The food was superb as we had a mixture of traditional, yorkshire and vegetarian afternoon tea. Thank you again for a lovely afternoon.

Love this place! Came for afternoon tea today and was not disappointed. Party of 9 adults and 9 babies and I must say that normally when you have a large group with babies you can feel a little like an inconvenience, but not at the Spiced Pear! Each baby had their own chair on which their car seat could go. We were on a table out of the way so we didn't feel like we were disturbing other customers and we weren't rushed through with our food. Hope to be back soon �

I have been today with my daughter and baby granddaughter for after tea to celebrate my birthday. The food and atmosphere is amazing and the staff are very friendly and helpful. It’s our first visit but it won’t be our last. Plan on taking my husband in February to celebrate our 43rd wedding anniversary. Thank you again for a lovely afternoon.

Firstly afternoon tea was not really my thing but how pleasantly surprised I was when we went on Sunday 2/7 for my sister in laws birthday.



The service was great, my steak & ale pie was excellent, the platters looked great too. A lovely cup of tea & the guy playing the piano was amazing! Made my afternoon. We shall be coming again �

Favourite place to visit for afternoon tea ever! You can't beat it. Tried both the traditional and gentlemen's afternoon tea, both amazing and I now struggle with which one to choose � cocktails are tasty too !

Fabulous afternoon yesterday as always!! Brought my 4 year old son and my nephew out as it was my birthday treat.

Two wasps decided to grace us with their presence but thankfully Prince Charming came and saved us all by catching them!!

Been today for afternoon tea to celebrate a close friends baby shower. The service from us turning up to leaving was brilliant & the afternoon tea was amazing. I will definitely be coming back. Thank you to all the staff, Donna had an amazing surprise & loved every minute

Absolutely wonderful! They were so accommodating to our large party of 17 and the staff were very pleasant and friendly. Such a cosy and lovely atmosphere and the food was fantastic! I would definitely recommend and would love to go back.

A fantastic afternoon tea. A lovely tea room, the service was excellent and the afternoon tea among the best I have had. We shared a Yorkshire tea and a traditional afternoon tea and it was a perfect mix. A special mention for the scotch egg, that was the stand out dish for me.

Xmas afternoon tea was very nice i enjoyed it all my fav was pigs in blanket and the Christmas scone my least fav was the

Chesse tasted nice just abit crumbly and had many as didnt want salmon but would off liked more of the turkey instead. I would highly recommend but i felt like the poor lass who served us was run off her feet from taking orders bringing meals and drinks she looked stressed

We went for afternoon tea with a voucher that was given to us for a Xmas present. The venue was very nice and lovely friendly staff. But was disappointed with the food for the price! Expected better quality and more of it! All was very average and dry!☹️

We visited yesterday and two of us had the Yorkshire afternoon tea. I had to ask the waitress to replace the Yorkshire pudding with beef as it was cold and the china tea cups were dirty. The other two in our party had regular meals however the place setting for afternoon tea wasn't removed from the table . These are small things , however when you are paying these prices, you expect better service. The waitress who served us was pleasant enough but obviously wasn't trained. Overall we enjoyed the afternoon but won't be rushing back.

Lovely crockery and the food was nice. But when I booked I said I had a pram...getting from the car park was very hard as no ramps just lots of stairs. Then the lady on reception said 'is downstairs Ok?' But she didn't wait for a reply as she walked off to show us our seat and again we struggled with the stairs. Therefore not good for pram or wheelchairs!

Party of 20 went for afternoon tea booked for 3pm. We were not served until 4pm. 2 members of staff served whist another 2 cleared table from another party which ment half the table had eaten before the other half and the tea coffee did not come out till most had eaten there sandwiches. I was personally gagging for a drink. Tables can be cleared later if service is required. I felt the staff had no coordination at all. We had to ask for milk as tea was going cold. Food was great. Service needs to be improved.

Just been for lunch today and I have been here many times. The food was lovely but I'm so disappointed with the service, and even told them and not even so much as an apology. Waited an hour for food and then an hour to clear our table, not asked if we wanted anymore drinks at all while we were here. Had to ask for it to be cleared and we wanted cakes and coffees but ended up leaving. I was polite when I said how poor the service had been and how disappointed I was, all I expected was an apology, not much to ask. Drive into Holmfirth for cakes and coffee instead. Unfortunately Won't be back for a while now. Such a shame.
