Thanks to all my wonderful customers and friends who have supported me in the pub. I have met some weird and wonderful people ,but have gained many new friends.. Wetherspoons met its Waterloo in Blyth today. 29/8/2016

Straight as an arrow.

On a visit to the Tall Ships Event today in Blyth. Myself my wife and our #archery Dawg Blooy were made extremely welcome at this delightful hostelry which is tucked away behind a giant pub operator (JD Wetherspoon) (The Wallaw) ! I collect visits to Wetherspoons all over the UK and we were looking forward to having our lunch there in the outside area. We were refused service on the grounds. 1 that they do not serve outside and 2 that we had a dog with us. Hey ho.. That spoilt our day. First time we have been turned away from any of this big chain of pubs. Who cares !

Every cloud has a silver lining.

We found "The Waterloo Pub".

I can officially recommend that when visiting Blyth in Northumberland.

Scores out of 10 on cleanliness, friendliness, service, quality and last but not least value for money that is more than a match for the big chain pub afore mentioned.

In summary to all of or good pals and archers and our FB & Twitter pals ! When visiting Blyth give The Waterloo a go. For good honest and tasty #archery fare 10/10

Bobbed in for a pint or 2 last night. No draught real ale on and a very odd juke box, but a good craic none the less.

Went for Xmas party night the room was freezing cold bar staff in their coats the food mediocre service dire no one else in there speaks for itself. The first course appeared no one asked if we wanted drinks or were we ready for the starters some of party waited meanwhile starters were getting cold this continued throughout not even any Xmas party atmosphere, or Xmas music, asked for a coffee this was brought out in a black horrible coffee mug without any creams sugar after eight mints lol just plonked on the table the mince pies were scattered around the table God knows how long they had been sitting there cheap and nasty, at the end of the meal we were told they would bring the bill as the girls wanted to go home. Not that we wanted to stay as we were all perished by then, and resorted to finish drinks with our coats on, also they only had one bottle of wine in. For goodness sake there was eight if us. I complained to the manager later in the week but did not even get a reply all in all pretty much a waste of money at £20 per head pathetic customer services I could certainly not reccomend it and most defo won't be returning

My freind who booked the table spoke to the manager who offered us an Indian meal which we declined as it is just too cold and wouldn't subject ourselves to another freezing night with the worst service ever

User

Walked in to fairly busy bar with only 1 person waiting for service. After waiting 2-3 minutes (with a member of staff at the end of the bar talking with his friends and not taking any orders) we just left. Poor service.

User

So disappointed have taken my son and his friend to watch every England match here and tonight when it’s full to capacity we’ve been asked to leave at 7pm spot on kick off as the kids can’t stay how unfair is that

User

Manager is a moron.
