I've been meaning to post about this book for ages but it's flown off the shelves faster than I've had chance to snap a pic! . Stories for Boys Who Dare to Be Different is a compilation of "true tales of amazing boys who changed the world without killing dragons". From Beethoven to Barack Obama, Gandhi to Stormzy this is a beautifully inspiring collection of 100 stories of famous and not-so-famous men from the past to the present day, who went on to make the world a better p...lace through compassion, generosity and self belief. . The author, Ben Brooks writes: “I wanted to write this book because it’s the kind of book I wish I’d had as a kid. I wish I’d known about the endless list of boys who felt out-of-place and alone, only to grow up and be embraced for the very things that once marked them out as different. I wish too, that I’d known about all the women who had felt and been different, stood up for what they believed in, and pursued everything they wanted to pursue. Kurt Vonnegut wrote that ‘the function of the artist is to make people like life better than they have before.’ Since researching all the lives that make up Stories For Boys Who Dare to be Different, I think mine has a bit more light in it, and if it can help any boys who are feeling feelings they aren’t supposed to feel, that would make me feel very happy.” . We have it on good authority.... ie from her lovely mum..... that gorgeous Goldie is loving our @weegallery monochrome soft baby book. Newborns can only see 12 to 15 inches away so these high contrast concertina style soft books are perfect for stimulating developing vision and senses.
