😊 We went here last night (8/6) for my fiancé’s birthday with his father and brother. Upon first glance the restaurant itself is so quaint and traditional-feeling - the walls are covered with beautiful photos and paintings of Italy. What made this a completely unique experience for me was the fact all of the staff were Italian. They clearly all love their work, and you can see the passion in everything they do.
I had the house lager which was absolutely delicious - I wish I ...could find somewhere to buy it! We had cured meats to share as a starter, presented beautifully on a wooden serving board with rocket and plum tomatoes and some balsamic vinegar.
Now this is why I’m giving this place 5 stars: I hate fish, I would never, ever order it. But last night I took the plunge and ordered the sea bass special, trusting the Italian way of cooking would turn me. And it did! I could have eaten two I loved it that much!! Not to mention the size of the fish itself was huge!
My partner had lobster ravioli, his father had the wild boar special, and his brother had a beef steak. All plates were clean when we’d finished.
All in all I’d recommend this for anyone looking for somewhere that does Italian food properly, and I’d definitely return!
Thanks Vito!

Welcome: Exceptional. Warm and sincere

Menu: Loads of choice. Top end restaurant menu

Starters: Lobster Ravioli & Meatballs - both fantastic

Mains: Lamb (amazing) & Peppered Fillet Steak (v good)

Desserts: Panna cotta (wonderful) Soufflé (disappointing)

Portions: Average

Red Wine: Montepulciano (brilliant)

White Wine: House white (decent)

Service: Top Drawer. Attentive- perfect timings on courses

Ambience: Good, but on our own from 9pm - will be better when full.

Parking: Difficult

Bill: Frightening

Verdict: An exceptional experience for a special occasion, not a place for a weekly visit, given the prices £100 for two.( unless I am just tight)

We have eaten here quite a few times and we are never disappointed. The food tastes so fresh and is so obviously prepared with a passion. If you love real Italian food, Vitos can't be beaten.

User

The wife and I have never been over enthusiastic about Italian food the menus appearing to consist of pasta, meatballs, pizza, gnocchi, spaghetti etc. but were invited to join our son at Vito's for a meal last weekend. What a delight, we were made welcome from the moment that we stepped inside, the ambience was great as were the staff who were convivial all the time we were there. The menu was very varied with a choice of meat and fish dishes all cooked in traditional Italian style. The wife and I agreed that the meals were the best we had tasted for a long time and altered our perception of Italian meals. Not cheap but worth every penny. If you want to savour Italian cuisine visit Vito's, South Road Sheffield.

Thanks again to all the staff for a memorable evening.

The food was lovely and we were made to feel so welcome. We shared a Bruschetta Classica to start, both had the Merluzzo Vito (cod in a creamy sauce) with roasted vegetables for main, and panna cotta for dessert. The tomatoes and garlic were super fresh and tasty, the cod was perfectly cooked and it and the vegetables arrived super hot - so straight from the pan. Wonderful! The panna cotta just melted in your mouth. And the coffee was excellent too. This was our first visit and although it's so far from home (4 hour round trip!), I'm sure we'll be back again.

Myself and my husband have been to vitos on a small number of occasions and we were there last night for our Valentine's day meal(18/2/17). This restaurant is very sentimental to us as we had our first date there we always go back for special occasions. The food is as lovely as ever. The staff are always friendly. We met Mr vito for the first time last night. Lovely gentleman. we shall be back for our wedding anniversary.

User

My fiancé and I regularly eat here and love it! This is such a lovely friendly restaurant! The food is really good, and they have been great in accommodating my dietary requirements! Great atmosphere! Good if you are wanting to go as a couple, good if you want to have a larger group!

Lovely , friendly,so welcoming the food is quality & so are the staff

User

Looking forwards to visiting you on my next trip - that response you wrote on trip advisor (to the bill dodger) has gone viral it's hilarious, so looking how much everyone else loves you and your place, I don't want to miss out!

User

If you like good Italian food, then give Vito a visit. A very friendly atmosphere, from the staff and other diners. The restaurant itself is charming, typical of the ristorantes you find off the tourist routes in Italy.

The food we had was fantastic, fresh, good quality ingredients expertly prepared by the chefs.

Vitos wine selection can only be described as extensive, with many bottles from the smaller, more select producers. There is something for everyone and the quality is high.

All in all our first visit to Vitos was beyond expectations, and we will certainly be returning.

Thank you Vito and all your staff for making the evening an absolute pleasure.

User

I always enjoy my visit to Vito's. I really can't think of any other place in Sheffield with the right balance of good old traditional Italian food, friendly staff & relaxed ambience! What also sets Vito apart for me is the pride he has for the food he makes. I always know I'm being served quality food!

User

User

First visit to Vito's and it was possibly the best meal we have had in Sheffield. The staff were friendly and chatty and the food was very tasty and authentic. Taste and flavours take priority, with food presented in a simple manner. Will definitely be returning in the future and probably with some regularity.

User
