About Wentworth Garden Centre

Situated in 16 acres of historic walled gardens, Wentworth Garden Centre is arguably the largest and most attractive centre in the North Midlands.

Wentworth Garden Centre Description

Established for more than 25 years, Wentworth Garden Centre satisfies the needs of traditional gardeners and also caters for those visitors seeking a relaxing leisure experience away from the hustle and bustle of town centres and modern shopping malls. An on-going programme of continuous investment has created a pleasant and comfortable shopping and browsing environment for visitors.

Whilst ambience is important, the growth of the centre has been built upon the philosophy that the ‘Customer is King’. Family members and long serving dedicated staff provide the continuity, quality of service and expertise expected in a modern business environment, whilst sacrificing none of the old fashioned virtues associated with bye-gone days.

Wentworth Garden Centre is unique both in its setting and location, visit the centre soon and we can guarantee that you will want to return again and again.

We love Wentworth garden centre. The plants are excellent and a good price too. We only had a scone yesterday (apricot and almond - delicious) but many times have had an excellent lunch there. I'd recommend a visit if you haven't already been.

User

We are regular visitors here. I love this place. The only negative now is that they have banned dogs from entering the shop. Which is a shame as we always take our dog with us. It just means less spending now.

User

Visited today with my 6 year old god daughter and her mum.spent a lovely time browsing the shops. Visited the farm and new sand area wishing we had brought a towel. Finished with a lovely scone and coffee in the cafe. Love visiting will be back before Christmas for look around

Visited today with my 2 children age 3 and 7 and my friend, we have all had a fabulous day, the children enjoyed the farm, sand and water play in particular we ate our picnic in that area at the tables provided. The foot wash area is a brilliant idea.

My dinosaur mad don loved looking for dinosaur clues and holding the reptiles. We also enjoyed the maze and gardens.

The garden centre shop has lots of beautiful items so all in all there is something here for everyone.

I’m also amazed at the low farm and gardens entrance fees we will certainly be back.

Me and my wife Jackie have spent the morning at Wentworth Garden Centre, starting with a super breakfast...After browsing, and buying in the lovely shop we spent a really special hour or so in the wonderful gardens, they looked absolutely awesome this morning, the floral displays, Hosta’s and pool side seating area were just fabulous....We came out feeling really chilled, after a hectic weekend.

A final mention to the gentleman who was flitting around the Garden Centre with his litter picker and keeping the whole place spotless. A big thanks to you all.

User

Been coming here for years after reading the novel, when I can I will try and get a visit to the house. It's the most romantic house so awe inspiring and I really want to see the painting by Stubbs as he's my favourite artist. Sometimes I dream I live there in the little lodge house adjacent to the main gates. We used to visit before the fantastic restaurant was built,it's so a part of my life and always will be.Thank all the people who look after it.

User

A very special and beautiful place to visit. Lucky for me it's local but would definitely recommend even if you have to travel miles you won't be disappointed. The cake selection are to die for ! I have bought many a plant from here and never been disappointed like other places I have bought from. You may have to pay a little more but the quality is worth it. The gardens are well worth a visit too very beautiful. I have very fond memories of taking my Grandma & Granddad who also loved it here.

User

A HUGE thank you to Wentworth Garden Centre and family farm for allowing me and my family into the farm free of charge so I could hold Tilly the tarantula. I have always been terrified of spiders but did this to raise money for Hallam FM's cash for kids charity. Special thanks to Luke for arranging it for me

User

We love coming here. Lots to do and great for kids. Family farm is really good value for money, with plenty of animals to see and interact with. The restaurant food is always delicious....however, we que’d for 25 minutes yesterday to order a sandwich and a sausage roll. Why at such busy times is there only 1 person taking orders? We then waited another 25 minutes for our food. I understand how busy it gets but this really should be addressed. Never the less still a wonderful visit.

User

I was very sad to learn today that dogs would be no longer allowed in the shop due to a few irresponsible owners. My two well behaved dogs always enjoy their visits and have never caused any problems. On a dog friendly site I am on I have always reccommend your establishment.I just hope that people do not start to leave their dogs unattended in their cars whilst they visit the shop particularily during the summer months.

User

Went yesterday, took our dogs with us too, but very disappointed to see that you can no longer take your dogs in the garden centre. Think its very unfair that all dog owners are tarred with the same brush, it should just be the irresponsible ones that are made to leave.

It was one of the few places that all the family could visit, including pets. Probably won't visit as much now, and I'm sure this will apply to it of people who have dogs. Hope you re think your decision

User

My elder 2 sons took there nan and younger brother for afternoon tea today 14-5-18 it was a disappointing experience for them, 1st when they arrived they said it was only booked for 2 afternoon teas and one younger child !

Then when they went to the garden room the table wasn’t even set for them, to then have to ask where there teas/coffee was 10 minutes after when other people who arrived after had got there’s!!

So they asked again to then still have to wait 20 minutes the service was very poor and unorganised , what should have been a lovely afternoon for a nan to spend with her 3 grandsons wasn’t so good !!! Very disappointing wentworth garden centre
