1st Bistre Scout group was formed in 1975 by Geoff Smith , Ernie Dolby , Tony Whitfield and Brian Hicks ,
The Scout Headquarters were built in 1980 - 1982

1st Bistre Scout group was set up way back in 1975 , Geoff Smith, Ernie Dolby Tony Whitfield and Brian Hicks set out to open the group.
Geoff and Ernie had a meeting with with the District Commissioner Tony Roberts and arranged for Tony and Brian to meet with the Assistant District Commissioner (cubs) May Alderson.
After Receiving further advice from Tom Parsonage and Harry Mccormack of District and a series of informal meetings it was decided to hold a public meeting in the Bistre V. P. school. At this meeting a committee was formed and leaders appointed.
on the 6th October 1975 1st Bistre Scout group Was formed .
the Group met in Bistre Infants school prior to the Scout Headquarters.
The Building fund started in 1976, Building started in 1980. First ever meeting in the scout hut was 6th September 1982. with the official opening by Lord Barry Jones on 10th December 1982.
