Welcome to 1st Mochdre Cubs we are a traditional group with over 100 years of scouting experience. We are proud you have chosen to join us and hope this site will prove useful in helping your son /daughter become a 1st Mochdre Cub Scout.

Scout is the generic term for all Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts and Scouts as they progress through the sections according to their age.
your child is now one in 28 million young people in 216 countries and territories who have chosen to take part in the fun of scouting every week.

The experience your son /daughter will gain from being a scout are likely to stay with them for the rest of their lives.

At 1st Mochdre we have seen the ways that scouting can challenge and stretch the lives of our scout members. From a Beaver or Cub waking up in the morning after his or her first night away to a scouts first abseil down a real rock face all achieved in a controlled risk situation. These experiences are all possible in scouting.

1st Mochdre helps to prepare a scout for life by giving them the opportunities for self-exploration. This enables them to become independent and capable of looking after themselves. They are given opportunities to work with each other and achieve what they thought was impossible before joining scouts.
This enhances their self-worth and confidence, All this accomplished through the Scouting fun methodology which is to learn by doing.

At 1st Mochdre we have a proven track record of success over the last few years and are different to other local groups as we are a traditional pack. Scouting is unique from other youth movements in having a promise and law which members willingly accept. So welcome to our family and may we have many fun times together.
