Happy birthday mouse all from 3rd prestatyn

Following our fame on Weatherman Walking, we've had another busy week! (If you missed it, its now on BBC Iplayer)
Our Beavers have been preparing for camp by learning how to roll their neckers properly, how to light and put out matches safely, and how to toast marshmallows! To top it all they learnt three songs to sing at the campfire, they even learnt one of them in Makaton!
Our Cubs visited Gop Farm to learn about the farm amd to meet the Sheep and Cattle who live there. T...hey also visited the Cairn nearby and heard stories about the Stone Age people who lived there.
Our Scouts went to the Nova and Barkby Beach to clear up the area around the beach. Even though it was windy and wet, they insisted on beating the Leaders in a rubbish collecting competition!
Well done to all involved, and many thanks to Hedgehog Help Prestatyn for lending us litterpickers at short notice!

Huge congratulations to our Cub Leader, Ricky Pollard aka "Akela" who received his Wood Badge from the District Commissioner this evening.
Ricky has worked very hard over a number of years to achieve this award, and we are very proud of him.
The presentation of the Wood Badge to recognise a qualified leader is a tradition dating back to 1911 and is explained further in the link below.

To round off the term we've been SUPER busy!
Our Beavers have been preparing for Easter by practising their egg hunting skills, making baskets to hold their eggs, playing a game to collect eggs ANNNND most importantly eating chocolate eggs!
Our Cubs visited Rhyl Lifeboat and learnt about the RNLI and the fantastic work they do. They tried on all the gear and had a tour of the lifeboats.
... Our Scouts visited a local woodland to try their skills at friction fires and to work towards their photography badge.
Congratulations to our new Assistant Beaver Leader "Butterfly" who was invested this week!

INTRODUCING 'FOALS' - The new Scouting Section for 4-6 year olds!
3rd Prestatyn are very proud and excited to announce that we have been selected by ScoutsCymru to trial the new Foals Section.
The Section will be 100% youth led and will be learning #skillsforlife through household activities such as rewiring plugs and tree felling, and adventurous activities such as clay pigeon shooting and BASE jumping.
... Interested parents and guardians are to comment below marked for the attention of our new Leader, Avril.
Avril's Foals will be launched at the upcoming Vale of Clwyd District Beaver Submarine building competition.

Our Cubs had a great time trying out TAGactive at SC2 Rhyl! Lots of high paced running about to complete physical and mental challenges.
Big thumbs up!

To our female leaders and helpers who continuously raise the bar and make 3rd Prestatyn go from strength to strength, we say thank you!
We also say a huge thank you to the girls in our Sections and those who support them. Keep on being fantastic and we look forward to seeing you leading Sections and Groups of your own one day.
