A busy weekend for the cadets. Some away to a regional training weekend and others to a Fieldcraft weekend. Staff and Committee are busy with training and planning events.
HEARTSTART. A group of cadets received Heartstart training as per the British Heart Foundation syllabus. The training included recognising and dealing with casualty scenarios such as an individual who is conscious and breathing, unconscious and breathing, unconscious and not breathing, a suspected heart attack, cardiac arrest, choking, and a severe bleed. Cadets also learned about doing CPR and using an AED. Well done!
Cadets and Staff from Port Talbot Air Cadets have had another busy weekend.
On Saturday 26th Jan, Sgt Anya Rajan and Flying Officer Julia Havard took part in DofE Silver training, whilst Flight Lieutenant Rajan was involved in teaching the First Aid at Work (RQF Level 3) to members of No3 Welsh Wing.
On Sunday 27th Jan, Cadets and Staff have taken part in the Cross Country and 5-a-side Girls Football trials.
... Well done to Cdt Cai Morgan, Cdt Liam Roberts and Sgt Anya Rajan for their efforts in the Cross Country on a very cold day, and RegCivCom Ruth Rajan helping to marshal the event.
Sgt Anya Rajan finished 4th in the Female U17s and has been selected to represent No3 Welsh Wing in the Regional trials next month at RAF Cosford.
