Back in action at Tyseley this weekend. Plenty of 'fettling' going on, sorting out cylinder cladding or painting. Great work from all our volunteers this week, as celebrating all the work done by our volunteers whether on the loco, on the sales stands or any of the myriad of jobs required to get Betton built and finished! #volunteersweek #teambetton Good also to see the progress on the boiler, all ready for tube fitting and the superheater elements in production #gettingthere

Chris and Lynn are attending the Big Boy 4014 Union Pacific rollout in Cheyenne, Wyoming and we are delighted and excited to share this first public viewing of a steaming Big Boy in 60 years. How many will come to see Betton when she first steams later this year...

A Hot Easter Weekend! No not on the beach but in the sheds of both Tyseley and Llangollen. Plenty of activity, delighted to see that the Conrods had been fitted and for the first time connected to the Pistons. Meanwhile at Tyseley the team of Chris, Quentin, Barry, Bill, Max, Mick, Paul, Robin and Lynn got on with fittiing the valve chest cladding,fitting the draincock mechanisms and painting. Back at Llangollen on Sunday we had Chris and Saul working on Cogans' tender, Robin, Mick and Lynn painting 3814s' tender.

On Saturday we were pleased to show our members the good progress being made on the Tender at LLangollen after viewing a film on the progress of the Locomotive.We also had a delightful journey along the Railway taking in the scenes depicted of the 1940's weekend,even Churchill put in an appearance!

It was with great sadness that one of our supporters has passed, but it was with Pride that Chris and Lynn were able to be present to say goodbye to this Railwayman, and greater pride that the family asked for a photo of 6880 as part of the remembrance. Thankyou for your legacy Tony as you have gone on your final 'Journey of a Railway Signalman'

Super Progress at the weekend at Tyseley on Saturday, all Coupling Rods back on Betton, the Con Rods cleaned and backs painted. The step and sandbox remounted and various other parts,cleaned and painted. A good turn out of volunteers as ever! The boiler firehole door was looking particularly smart ( we won't see it that clean in the future!) On Sunday at Llangollen there was a bit more tidying of the Tender and we also took the opportunity to assess Cogan Hall's tender chassis for future use...
