It is with regret that are having to cancel our Christmas Fair event on Sunday 8th of December.
The good news is that Abergavenny has plenty of alternative Christmas markets taking place over the same period, so you will still have plenty of choice and lots of opportunity to stock up on your favourite festive food and gifts, and we’ll be back next year with our 2020 Food Festival.
Make sure you don’t miss:
... Nov 21st 6pm – Christmas Lights Switch On Lantern parade, Santa and his sleigh, music, choirs, night market, food, fun and more. Lantern parade starts at 5.30pm at Upper Brewery Yard
Dec 7th 10am to 5pm – Christmas in the Courtyard, St Mary’s Priory Made in Monmouthshire Christmas fair with gifts to buy from artists and makers, festive drinks plus music and entertainment
Dec 12th 5pm to 9pm – Christmas Street Food & Craft Night Market, Abergavenny Market Hall Street food vendors, local drinks producers, home-made cakes and treats plus an array of hand-crafted gifts and festive entertainment
Dec 15th 10am to 5pm – Christmas Artisan Market, Abergavenny Market Hall Indoor and outdoor Christmas artisan market with food, drink and a gorgeous array of crafts and gifts

A jacket potato stuck under the bonfire? A spicy chilli con carne to warm your mitts? Maybe a traditional slice of Parkin cake? 🤔 What are your Fireworks night food traditions?

The leaves are turning golden orange and burnt red, the nights are drawing in and winter warmers are taking the centre stage at supper time. Make the most of this most beautiful season with some countryside walks and autumnal foraging. This excellent guide from Riverford is a great place to start. 🍁 🍄

The perfect day for moseying around markets, stocking up on yummy treats to last throughout the year. We enjoyed cooking demos with our favourite chefs over flame and food legends gracing the stage. Even the drizzle didn't dampen our spirits! Here's to an AFF2019 Sunday Funday!

As the sun sets on another year of Abergavenny Food Festival, us here at festival HQ are feeling pretty overwhelmed with emotion! Each year we aim to transform the way people think about food; challenging and promoting new ideas, pushing the boundaries of current thinking and encouraging people to look differently at where their food comes from. All while having riotous good fun and laughs-a-plenty!
2019 felt like a pivotal year for us - with more women and more diversity in... the programme than ever before, more stalls and more activities. We honestly can't thank you all enough. From our hardworking crew who defy odds of organisation, our sponsors without whom none of this would be possible, our stall holders who animate our streets and bring the festival to life, our speakers who impart their wisdom and inspire us all and every single person who buys a ticket, attends an event and engages.
It's hard to find the words, but we've had a go! See you next year! 💛💛💛

Abergavenny Food Festival is officially closed for 2019. That was something pretty wonderful, wasn't it? Huge thank you's to everyone who made #AFF2019 possibly the best one yet. Over the next few days we'll be posting pictures and sending out bigger thank you's to all who made it possible. But for now - safe journey home everyone.
You all really are spectacular! <3
