On approaching a gathering of youngsters in the Pavilion in Bailey Park I commented on the amount of litter in front of them ! I was pleasantly surprised when they said that not all of it was down to them but one lad said they would clear it up . I laughed and said I would check it out on my return .Sure enough I did and they had done as they had said .One comment justifiably made by them was that the two bins provided were too small and one was in need of securing . I thought ''tis was a valid point . I remarked on this to a councillor who's retort was "it is their rubbish and they should take it home with them " !!Rubbish I thought he is so clearly out of touch I many ways !! These young people were gathering with their friends as we used to years ago NOT rampaging or destroying the peace! They may not have all been brought up as he was but let us give them credit ! I will raise the matter of bigger stronger bins with Friends of Bailey Park which I intend to join .
