Always a beautiful place to spend the day, i visit often as I have a season ticket the plus factor is the great little cafe on site with all home made cakes superb. Highly recommend.
We had a light lunch. We love the gardens. Unfortunately the pea and mint soup lacked seasoning, and was very bland. Also, the garlic sauce on the mushrooms was slate grey in colour, which was a bit off putting. Coffee was good.
Well kept gardens with some interesting plants. Garden is set in a great setting. Cafe with interesting menu and friendly staff
Our daughter and partner recently married in the grounds at Aberglasney.
We felt that the whole day was a great success and Aberglasney looked spectacular in the sunshine. So many of the guests were captivated by the venue and enjoyed the different elements of the gardens. We also appreciated the fantastic facilities and our florists were especially grateful for the use of the workshop, which was ideal for the preparation of all the flowers.
The setting for the marquee next to the woodland area was perfect and the view looking up towards the house was a joy. On a practical note, the site's proximity to the workshop and the rear car park was ideal and the marquee company and the caterers were very pleased with the ease of access and the generous space for loading and unloading. Ellen, the marketing and communications officer, and all the staff were friendly and helpful and did everything they could to make the preparations go smoothly.
The gardeners and volunteers work very hard to maintain the house and gardens - the whole site is immaculate and there is a wonderful surprise around every corner. It really is a magical place and a wonderful venue for a wedding.
Aberglasney Gardens are a quiet haven incorporating some formal gardens with small valleys filled with surprises. Ideal to sit and watch on the many hidden seating areas. The smell from the Candy Floss trees in the Autumn is amazing and from such a small leaf! There is a pleasant tea rooms and it is possible to see what they have done to the house.
Absolutely stunning gardens. Although we live within an hours drive we had never heard of this place until we visited the RHS flower show in Cardiff. The Nivarium is stunning, tastefully restored. The Gardens offer great colour and a picturesque background for any budding photographers, having visited the National Botanical Gardens, I have to say Aberglasney trumps it by far, in terms of what it has to offer and value for money.
Surprising good, considering its quite compact; actually packs a better punch in early spring than its more famous cousin, the National Botanic Garden of Wales. Great botanic variety, beautifully laid out. Museum is sparse, but ninfarium is delightful surprise: so peaceful.
Although open all year, there's nothing to look at in the winter. They charge the same too which is very unfair. We visited in December and although a very nice walk, the price was very expensive considering there were no winter plants on display. Ironically though, there was plenty to purchase in the shop.
