Perygl/danger! Local climbers and visitors, please read the BMCвАЩs warning of the dangerous condition of these rocks in Tremadog - stay safe!
Military ordinance from the second world war is occasionally washed up onto our beaches or found on the seabed. These items are often unstable and pose a risk to members of the public. If you see anything along our coastline that you suspect to be explosive ordinance do not handle the items - call 999 and ask for the Coasguard.
Llongyfarchiadau mawr i / huge congratulations to: Terry and Conner on completing their latest set of training courses over 4 long days, including this sunny weekend, in Holyhead. They are now fully trained in CERCC (Coastguard Emergency Responder Casualty Care) and water rescue skills and with these, and a clean bill of health, are now full members of Abersoch Coastguard Rescue team. They will continue training with the team over the coming months in other search and rescue techniques including cliff rescue. Croeso / welcome Terry and Conner!
Llongyfarchiadau i / congratulations to Iasmin and Neil вАЬGillвАЭ McGill for passing their assessments this morning in gale force conditions on Cilan! Iasmin is now a technician, so will be at the business end of cliff rescues in future, and Gill qualified as an OIC (Officer In Charge) so will be the man controlling things on our shouts.
Diolch yn fawr iawn to Criccieth Coastguard for their support today in wild weather - very much appreciated.
Today is #InternationalWomensDay and to celebrate here is a brief introduction to two brilliant and dedicated team members.
Alwen is a full time mother, part time worker in a local kitchen and bathroom business and a really wonderful, talented and hard working artist. She also volunteers as a coastguard rescue officer with both Abersoch and Porth Dinllaen coastguard teams - IвАЩm not sure how anyone would juggle all of these demands but thankfully she does so diolch yn fawr i...awn Alwen.
Iasmin currently works in the hospitality sector in and around Abersoch and starts a demanding 3 year nursing course in Bangor in a few weeks - we all wish her the very best and look forward to her qualifying in her new career. Iasmin is training to be one of our elite Coastguard technicians and will be completing her cliff training on a very windy Sunday morning this weekend so pob lwc Iasmin.
