Fantastic day at the North Wales Open Surf Competition at Porth Ceiriad. Perfect waves, stunning weather and a great turnout. Big thanks to the organisers, not least Abersoch Watersports and judges Dave, Phill and Tam for a really special event. Senior Open results: The Open 1. The North Wales Surf Open is taking place as we speak at Porth Ceiriad. First heat just complete. Four heats of 25 mins each then semi/final then 2 X junior heats. Great turnout of spectators. Get down there and support.

What a day! Fantastic weather and such a good atmosphere in the village and on the beach for the Half Marathon. Felt like the middle of summer. Congratulations to everyone that are wearing their half marathon and 2k medals. You were all amazing. Thank you also to BBC 6 music’s Chris Hawkins, our host and compere. A great day!

It’s Race day, and what a day. Stunning! Half marathon starts at 10am. First finisher on the beach at 11. Live music with Tom Macaulay and Annabelle Lee at 12:30, prize giving at 1:30, DJ Selectjah at 2pm. All hosted by BBC Radio 6 Music’s Chris Hawkins. Beach bar too! Come down and support and enjoy the sun!

A cracking morning in Abersoch today. Forecast looks awesome for the next few days too. The Abersoch Half Marathon & 2K Beach Race is on Saturday with music and beach bar, hosted by BBC Radio 6 Music’s Chris Hawkins. Get down and enjoy.
