Adams Muay Thai Description

I started Martial Arts in the 1970s studying Shotokan Karate. After reaching Black Belt i recieved a serious hand injury which put me out of action for 2 years. I then tried Aikido and after 3 years graded up to blue belt. That club then closed so looked around for my next martial art. In January 2000 i saw that Russ Williams was starting a Thai Boxing class at the Deeside Leisure centre so went along. Me and my son Zak started straight away. Russ then passed the club to British Thai Boxing Champion Neil Parry and British and commonwealth champion Jaimie Ricketts to run for him. The club at that time was called North Wales Thai Boxing Club. I trained hard and regular for 6 years and recieved fantastic teachings from Neil and Jaimie who in my view were the best instructors ive ever met and trained under. I took my black belt in October of 2006 and was graded by World Champion Russ Williams and British and Commonwealth champion Jaimie Rickets. This was my second attempt. I passed my grading and carried on training with Jaimie until 2008 when i decided to start my own club at the Hawarden Institute in the village of Hawarden. My son Zak also trained very hard and was so close to becoming the English Junior Thai Boxing Champion, only losing out on points even though he fought on virtually one leg after recieving a very bad knee injury in the very first round. His Thai Boxing fighting spirit drove him on to the end and was very unlucky to lose to a very experianced fighter from sheffield K star. One of my other sons Philip also trained for two years with Jaimie and did very well. My youngest son jordan has also been training for many years and is at a very good standard. Zak and jordan have competed in many interclub fights also. Our club here in Hawarden have taken youngsters and adults to many interclub venues accross England and Wales to compete. We also have gradings at the club at selected times. We like to do gradings as not everyone wants to get in a boxing ring and fight so at least it gives those people something to aim for as well as keeping fit keeping in shape and defending themselves. Anymore information can be obtained from me either through here or me personally.
