Dear clients
I have now made 15 scrub bags and a batch of ear savers.
If anyone local is NHS or a Carer and need any of these please message me and I will drop off to you. Otherwise I will drop to my collection point.
... Thanks Lisa x

Thank you to the lovely people who have donated items today.
I have made 5 bags, now I have to check that they don’t fall apart when I wash them at 60 degrees. I have attached a pic of one - that one involved a lot of cursing while I figured out how to do it. Bit more complicated than dog bandanas 🤣
I have also made the little oval tartan thingy, if this washes ok I will sew buttons on so that the nurses can use it to hook their masks on to save their poor ears.
... I have some materials to be going on with, but please keep using my drop off box. If I don’t use the items I will pass on to the group so they can use it.
I could do with some white thread and some buttons (around the size of a 10p).
Also any fabrics that are cotton based and can be washed at 60 degrees.
Thank you 🙏 x

Dear local clients,
I have joined a group of volunteers to help make scrubs and scrub bags for the NHS and carers. If you have any unwanted pillow cases, ribbon, washable tape, drawstring, cottons or fabric that could be used. Please could you drop outside my house. I will put a labelled plastic bin by my gate today.
... Many thanks Lisa xx

Here’s a little recipe for Pupcakes, because it’s not just humans who have treats at Easter:
1/2 a large banana (mashed) 1/4 cup of smooth peanut butter (check no xylitol) 1/4 cup vegetable oil ... 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 cup grated carrot 1 cup wholewheat or plain flour 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda 1/4 cup of honey (optional)
Mix banana, peanut butter, oil, vanilla and honey in a large bowl. Mix in grated carrot Sift in dry ingredients and fold
Spoon into 6-7 cupcakes cases and bake for 22 mins on gas mark 5.
As you can see, Delilah and Alby love them. Delilah is frantically trying to steal another one as I am typing this 🙄

Dear clients
I just want to give you an update to keep you in the loop on the situation with dog grooming during this awful pandemic.
Groomers have been given permission to open but with such stringent guidelines that in our opinion this would be neither safe nor ethical.
... Customers would not be allowed to drive to us as this is considered a non-essential journey. So we are being asked to pick up and drop off your dog.
However, we need to maintain a 2 metre distance while doing this which poses the risk of your dog escaping.
The virus can be carried on the dog coat and on hard surfaces such as the lead and collar. This means that we would have to wear full PPE to safely collect your dog and transport to the salon. This is not ethical at a time when PPE is desperately needed by the NHS.
We could only transport one dog at a time and would need to fully disinfect our vehicle in between collections.
Once your dog is bathed, there should be no trace of the virus and we should be able to safely groom your dog. I say ‘should’, there is still the risk that the virus is still present in the dog’s coat and could potentially be blasted around the salon during the drying process.
We would then need to fully disinfect and sanitise the salon before the next dog comes in.
Due to the risk of spreading this awful virus, I have decided to stay closed at the current time, as have most groomers.
As long as you brush and comb your dog’s coat thoroughly and regularly, this will allow air to circulate to your dog’s skin and will prevent matting.
Please continue to do this while I am closed. I have posted some videos and diagrams to help you. I have also made myself available to those messaging or ringing for advice. I am more than happy to help with any of your questions and it’s also lovely to keep in touch with you.
Please take care and stay safe, I can’t wait to see you all again!
Lisa xx
PS There are groomers that have taken the decision to stay open. If you decide to take your dog to them please ask yourself is it worth the risk to yourself and your family.

Hi everyone, I hope you are all staying safe and well. If you need any advice with keeping your dog’s coat knot and matt free please contact me. We don’t know how long this will go on for so it’s very important that you keep brushing and combing your dogs in the meantime. As soon as it’s safe to groom again I will contact you. My priority will be the dogs that are the most overdue, with curly coats that are prone to matting. Please take care and stay safe 🙌💕🐶xx

Dog groomers standing together for the NHS.
This salon is proud to be one of thousands of grooming businesses following the government and industry guidelines, closing to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus
These are difficult times and much as we would like to be open, we must do what we can to protect our clients and protect the NHS.
... We miss our clients and understand that they will be getting hairier, and being closed will have a huge impact on our small business but the health and safety of humans must come first! Dog grooming is not an essential service and all salons, including home salons and mobile vans have been recommended to close to limit the spread of the virus, though we are aware some are still trying to work it is not worth the risk to have your dog groomed. Frontline workers are putting their lives and their families lives at risk to keep us safe.
Please Stay at home
-Only go outside for food, health reasons or work (if you are a key worker)
-If you go out, stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people at ALL times
-Do not meet others, even friends or family. You can spread the virus even if you don’t have symptoms.
Rest assured that we will be doing all we can once we reopen to get everyones grooms caught up. Please stay home, protect yourself protect your loved ones and protect the NHS.
