Love aldi, really reasonable prices.

The parking can be a nightmare and its quite annoying if you forget to put in your registration in-store.

We have just received a ParkingEye fine in Bangor, North Wales. We stayed for 27 minutes in the carpark and have a £70 fine. The letter tells me that there is clearly displayed signage advising carpark details.
Our local store in Heswall has similar signs BUT have different rules.
What do I do now?

Mixed review really. Usual Aldi setup so nothing to report on that front. However. BIG WARNING. Those B#$##$ards from Parking Eye 💩💩 have the contract for the car park enforcement and this isn't the usual 2 hr max stay thing. In this store there is a terminal where thou need to enter your car reg number or you get a bill for £70. The signs are well hidden and you wouldn't see the terminals if you pack at the till. BE CAREFUL 👹

@):- great shopping at affordable prices we love the variety of different things that they sell and parking is free if you put your registration number in after shopping at aldi

Nice supermarket, almost always have everything you need. Only problem is the staff are sometimes too fast and seem like they don't have a huge amount of care for customer service, seem to be talking/joking through the headsets with eachother rather than asking you how you are. Definitely an area for improvement

Using Aldi a lot. I visited this store in Bangor. I noticed the parking eye. And also the time limit of 1.5 hours. I shopped in the store. This was 46 mins. As it was Bank hol Friday. And the tills were all down. As not taking card payments. I paid cash. On cash only till. To shorten my wait.
To my surprise. 1 week later I revive a parking fine for £70 for not entering a reg plate into computer. Why? You have 6 stores in my Area . You don't ever enter reg on any of them. Parking eye. Gets your reg as you drive in and out. Of store. Prove is taking and set to your address. So this is a serious manipulation of extracting money from non local people. So Warrington, Orford. Birchwood. Widnes, Clock face. Stockton heath. St Helens. All have this stystem. With no imput needed.
ALDI you need to address this issue. With this store. And have a single policy throughout all stores. Not having money making stores. That you get commission from. Like this one. And probably others next to Universities . The signage for entering reg plate was not seen! It is not common practice at your stores. It's in Welsh. Not all people read Welsh. Also lots of complaints online about this!
And if its legal? It's non compliant with signage code of practice! I will challenge it!

It's a pretty basic Aldi. Perfectly fine for a quick shop. Most normal products. Car park needs reg.no. entry.

Good prices. Be careful of the car park though as they use a 'parking eye' system, requiring you to input your registration number into a computer in the store or potentially face a £70 penalty. This is not very well signposted (the signs in the store are in Welsh, with the English side up against a wall or have something in front of them, the signs in the car park are tiny).
