*update on the stolen planter* 😡
As well as the planter in Penrhiwfer Road a further 2 planters have been stolen – Collenna Road and the one by the Ely Valley Miners Club – making it now 3 in total!
The community council have removed the planter on the welcome sign in Coedely before that is also stolen.
... These planters cost the community money but they are purchased to make our area welcoming and a lovely place to live in.
I’m extremely saddened and angry about this.
If anyone does have any information please report this to 101 or the community council immediately.

*Appeal for information*
The flowers on the ‘Welcome’ sign on Penrhiwfer Road have been stolen 😔
They were there 7.00 am yesterday morning when they were last watered. By 4.30pm yesterday they had gone!
... The community council are appealing to anyone who may have seen something as whoever took them used an angle grinder to cut the inners out.

*Two new crossings for Tonyrefail West!*
As well as the zebra crossings for Tyn y Bryn Road (outside school/park) and Penrhiwfer Road (Co-op) there will be two further ‘uncontrolled’ crossings at the bottom of Penrhiwfer Road and on the junction of Waunrhydd Road.
These are following requests from residents (particularly on Waunrhydd Road) for a safe crossing.
... These will be installed in the coming weeks.

*Penrhiwfer Road / B4278* Speeding along ‘Barn hill’ has been an issue in Tonyrefail for far too long. We’ve had numerous accidents and some tragically fatal along this road. Safety of residents and customers going to the Co-op has also been a concern given the dangerous nature of this road. Before and since my election last May I have campaigned hard for the speed limit to be lowered on Barn Hill and for a crossing to be put on Penrhiwfer Road. I’m really pleased to be able ...to present the below plans to you which have been drawn up by RCT officers and S.Wales police. I welcome your feedback on this before we go ahead with the proposals!
