Wasn’t today a glorious day! ☀️I combined work with pleasure on my stock deliveries to @ulaclothing and @artisan.tremenheere followed by a spot of gardening. I’m excited that the dahlias we planted earlier in the spring are beginning to emerge. This is my Dahlia card which was inspired by @nationaldahlia collection which is really near to @tremenheeresculpturegardens You can now buy the Dahlia cards at @artisan.tremenheere and online on my @etsyuk shop. Definitely recommend a visit to both places, especially later in the year to catch the dahlias at their best. 🌸✨. I’ll also be selling cards at @narrativefair in St Austell and next Sunday at Trenance Gardens in Newquay

If you are in Cornwall and fancy a spot of bird watching over the bank holiday Monday you can find this little fella nesting at Ula Clothing in St Ives and Hayle. Chown China have screen printed my Cornish chough onto fine bone china mugs, and they look pretty *arbednek* (translation: special) The Chough or Palores was extinct in Cornwall until 2001 and there are now quite a few breeding pairs - Isn’t that amazing! Wherever you are this bank holiday weekend, hope it’s a good one and let me know if you spot a chough!! We walked along the coastal path from Porthcothan yesterday but didn’t spot any, although we saw crows, goldfinches and a lark. I wonder if having a dog scares them off.

Gorgeous flowers by @rarecreation._ at @themarket_cornwall this morning! 🌸 Sun is shining, little bit fresh, a perfect morning to buy local and support small businesses.

So I go away for the weekend and Peter finishes off our bedroom 😀 Just a few pictures to put up, but it seems appropriate to celebrate by cracking open the new duvet set 🍾✨🎉🛏 woo hoo. The wall colour is a bit greener than the living room, it’s called Inchyra Blue from Valspar. My hellebore cushions look nice on there too 🌸 Is it too early for bedtime?

Lily of the Valley is the symbolic flower of the Helston Flora Day that takes place in Cornwall every year to mark the arrival of Spring. People in the town will put on their finery and flowers and dance through the town. I’ve updated my Lily of Valley print to a dark grey background, and its available on my Etsy shop. Last year I had a very special order for this print for someone who was going to miss Flora Day for the first time ever, as they were away at University. Hearing people’s stories about how they connect with my illustrations means so much, I love to hear them.

It’s that time of the month again, I’ll be @themarket_cornwall in #Crantock Village Hall this Saturday morning, selling lampshades, cushions, prints and cards. If you are local and thinking of updating your lighting but not sure what you need, pop in for a chat about sizes, colours and designs for a bespoke order to suit your decor. Bring your lampbase in for a fitting. And at the same time buy your veg, have some lunch and delish coffee too! #artisanmarket #shoplocal #supportsmallbiz

What an incredible weekend. It’s so nice to take some actual time off and just relax, enjoying the area we live in. A trip back to Newquay and walk on Fistral Beach, and its beautiful pebbles with the white quartz veins that remind me of the St Piran’s flag of Cornwall. My St Piran’s Pebbles print is in my Easter sale on my @etsy shop. Use the discount code EASTER to get 20% off at the checkout.

Gull Feather lampshade, a bespoke order delivered to its new home in Newquay yesterday. We also had a lovely dog walk on Fistral Beach to make the most of a glorious day. I hope you have a lovely weekend too folks. 🌞🌷

I’m looking forward to this event in May. Narrative has been organised by Sarah Drew, one of my Etsy Made Local co-organisers, so it is going to be full of some gorgeous sellers, fine food and fun music. And it is free entry, child friendly and dog friendly 😀

Oh! Sale Klaxon 🚨 alert. I’ve decided to add a little Easter sale on my Hazel Catkins and Pussy Willow print. It is available as an A4 or A3 size print. This print has been really popular with my customers and would make a lovely Easter gift. Walking along the mining heritage walk called Great Flat Lode near Redruth there are some wonderful pussy willows out doing their spring time thing. If you would like to buy one of these prints use the Discount code EASTER on my etsy shop to get 20% off.

I was inspired by a lovely walk with Rufus yesterday morning across Cubert Common to update my Blackthorn design with a different colourway. The little pathway down to Polly Joke beach was laden with bloom. Rufus was so happy to be back on familiar territory as we haven’t been there since our move in the autumn. I’m not sure about this colour, I was trying to do something different but in the end all roads lead to blue...

Hosted by The Market, this event at Crantock Village Hall has a great atmosphere with live music, quality food and coffee vans, a small well curated selection of quality sellers of farm produce, flowers, jewellery, home decor and art. I will be selling my designer lampshades, cushions, prints and cards.

I’m at The Market in Crantock this Saturday morning from 9am to 1pm, selling my designs on lampshades, cushions, handwarmers, cards and prints. Pictured here are my Dog Cockles 20cm lampshade, Agapanthus cushion, Hellebore round cushion and Warm Your Cockles lavender & grain bag, all printed onto cotton linen. I had a lovely handwritten note from Sally @originalsurfboards this morning, who has come up with another brilliant use, as lavender bean bags for people who struggle w...ith hand movement issues or just need something to fiddle with. I know that I find the smell of lavender very soothing and my Cockles are quite tactile so Sally could be onto something! A customer last weekend bought my Hellebore lavender and grain bag for her 90 year old grandma. Anyway, if you are in Cornwall and want to come along to @themarket_cornwall you are welcome to have a feel for yourself! (All puns intended!) 🌸

Bird of Paradise Flower cushion went off to a new home this week 😀 #anythinggoes #marchmeetthemaker @joannehawker. I usually only make one of something when I’m testing it out, and this cushion had a lot of admiring ooos at last weekend’s fair. That means I have to get cracking and make some more. I’ve got a couple of events coming up, and I’ll add it to my Etsy shop too within the next week. Peter gave me a sewing machine a couple of Christmas ago and I really enjoy getting back in to sewing and want to delve in to making more stuff. I tried to make a couple of dresses with my fabric designs with my old machine a few years ago and they were a disaster. It would be nice to try that again but with simpler patterns.

Round cushions are just about one of the cutest things I’ve ever made, 🌸What’s not to love about a big oversized hellebore on your Ercol? I had my designs printed onto cotton linen and the colours are so gorgeous and springful. Is that even a word, it’s a mix of joyful spring I think. I’ve got some left after yesterday at @bedruthanhotel spring fair which is also on again today until 4pm. If you are planning to come along do check the parking situation with the hotel in advan...ce. There are signs for the park and ride to the hotel from Mawgan Porth village right opposite the beach. After your mooch about the fair which is on three floors of Bedruthan Hotel and had coffee or lunch you can get fresh air on a brisk beach walk and contemplate the lovely springy things you have just bought. 😀 It’s doggy friendly too 🐕 and there is face painting stuff going on. See you later!
