*update* owner has been found. She would like to pass on her thanks to everyone who helped.
We are sorry to advise that we have had a deceased, neutered male, white and ginger cat brought in to our Prestatyn surgery. The very large cat was found on Meliden road, past Voel coaches and very close to the cottage. If anyone has any information please call us on 01745 853366.

This little man is Benji, he came in last week with this enormous grass seed down his ear! Unsurprisingly he was very uncomfortable.
Grass seeds are a common problem during the summer, they are attached to the tops of long grass and can get stuck in ears, eyes and under the skin. If you have been walking in long grass with your dog make sure you check their ears, around their face and paws and remove any seeds you can see; this is particularly important in dogs with long fur! If your dog is licking at their paw and limping, or vigorously shaking their head after a walk in the grass then give us a call.
Luckily, Benji is now feeling much better and is on the road to recovery ☺️

Please be aware, there was some broken glass down the side of the Prestatyn practice (to the right as you come from the car park)- we have cleaned it up as well as we can, but there may be some small splinters remaining. Please avoid the area with your dogs!

Happy 10 year Anniversary to one very special employee! Ashley started as an animal care assistant at Mountain View vets in 2009 prior to AllPets taking on the business and has helped us become what we are today. She is a huge part of Allpets vets and makes every staff member smile everyday! She's incredibly caring with all the animals that come through our doors and she always goes the extra mile with each and every one. Happy Anniversary Ashley, Today you are our 'Star Of the Day'! 🀩😍😍😍

This young man has been hanging around Chatsworth Road, for over a week. He's been fed by some of the residents, but they would like to get him home. He is microchipped but the telephone number isn't up to date. Do you recognise him?

This week is RAW! (Rabbit Awareness Week). The campaign for 2019 is about raising awareness around Rabbit Viral Haemorrhagic Disease 2 (RVHD2). RVHD2 is a new variant of RVHD1 and is often fatal. There is a lot of rabbit care information on the RAW website, www.rabbitawarenessweek.co.uk. If you need to book your bunny in for their vaccinations and a nose to fluffy tail health check, please telephone us or book online at www.allpetsvets.co.uk

This little critter is an ear mite. This video is taken from our microscope. They cause a lot of irritation to cats and dogs as you can imagine. They are very common but easy to treat. Typical symptoms are ear irritation, head shaking and lots of dry black wax. Regular anti parasite medication will usually keep them at bay.
With the warmer weather we’re seeing more parasites on pets. This week we’ve seen three ticks on three separate dogs, this case of ear mites and a case of roundworms.
Remember to keep up to date with preventative parasite control. πŸ•· πŸ› 🐜
