I create online content, writing news items and articles for websites, blogs, newsletters etc - either from scratch or based on existing material.

I proofread texts - checking them for typographical errors (typos) and other issues such as spelling, punctuation, consistent use of capital letters and correct labelling of images. I also offer a more detailed editing service aimed at improving the content and structure of documents. I am happy to work with all sorts of materials, including press releases, sales brochures, annual reports, advertising copy and texts for websites.

The documents you produce should create a positive impression of your business. Texts with errors in them can do just the opposite: they can give the impression that you don’t pay attention to details and might therefore have a less than professional approach to your work. By spotting errors and alerting you to any inaccuracies or inconsistencies in your texts, I can help you make the right impression on potential customers.

My free-of-charge initial assessment will highlight any obvious problems with a text. With your agreement, I can then undertake either a thorough proofread or a more detailed edit of the it. I accept texts in MS Word, PDF and on paper. I work on copies of texts, not originals; any amendments proposed are for your consideration and approval. Texts will be marked using appropriate tools: typically ‘track changes’ for MS Word and the ‘comment’ option for PDF documents. For those who prefer them, I can also work with BSI proofreading symbols.
