Slow and controlled on the way back in Plank Touch x 20 - Try to keep your hips as straight as possible.... Suitcase carry x 30m - Donβt rush the walk! Pick a challenging weight that you have to work hard to keep your body nice and upright.

This little sausage was feeling a bit beaten up today! Training hard for the Cardiff Half, attending weekly Functional Fitness classes and PT. Today in our PT session with @discodrisco we focused the hour on mobility, movement and core. Boring - possibly, but managing training load for longevity and injury prevention - absolutely. β’ 1st kicked off with some Thoracic spine (upper back) mobility. Get yourself a foam roller and place on your upper back. Hold onto something lowe...r than the roller with straight arms. A squat rack/Barbell for example. Lift the hips up and slowly lower to the floor. Followed up with some banded pull throughs. Thoracic spine x 15 Banded pull through x 15 β’ If you sit down in front of a computer all day these two mobility combinations will be great to pull your shoulders back and increase range of motion in your upper spine. β’ Movement - Hamstrings, Adductor (inner thigh), Hips , Glutes and lower back. Using a resistance band move in each position - (shown in video) for 10 reps. Repeat on the other leg. We did this twice per leg. β’ Bottom up KB press. More challenging than a normal KB press. Holding the KB bottoms up will make the shoulder for work harder to stabilise the load. This exercise is brilliant for fixing shoulder imbalances and improving shoulder health. Dead hang - Hanging off a pull up bar with active shoulders. Awesome for releasing your shoulders, upper back and lats π β’ Finished off the session with: 4 rounds Banded pull downs x 10 Dead bugs x 10 Russian twist x 20 Flutter kicks x 20 β’ A very productive session to say the least πͺπ» β’ #QuantumFitness #mobility #movement #health #fitness #goals #training #longevity #gym #personaltrainer #cardiffpersonaltrainer #cardiff #pt

Been going for four weeks and no two training sessions are the same, an hour of training flys by! Andrew has corrected bad habits that I previously picked up when lifting by myself in a mainstream gym that were causing injuries and demotivating me. Cannot recommend enough!!
