Thank you to all our customers who were so generous with donations to my charity abseil yesterday. All together we raiesed £230 for Parkinsons research in just 3 weeks!
In case anyone wonders, the camera shake at around 1:30 is pure left-leg wobble that Elvis would be proud of at the point where the guy running it asked me to "stand there while I hook you on" - there being about 6 inches from the edge of the cliff!!!
Was already on the safety rope, but still....

Due to recent events we regret to announce that our pricing for batteries and straps will be increasing.
If you require a callout the fee is £50
At the present time we are NOT taking in any clocks.
... On a Monday we are closed from 12.30pm as since my heart attack I attend rehabilitation gym without fail if you turn up when I am leaving you will be turned away. Once the door is locked I am not there.
When necessary I will close the shop for a day to catch up on the work which is overdue, again if the door is locked i'm not there, please refrain from banging on the door/window as this could cause damage to the item I am working on. I will announce any days such as these here.
These changes are being implemented as windscreens are expensive and stress levels need to be decreased with immediate effect

For our customers, due to yet another act of vandalism the future of the shop is under consideration. Buying new windscreens is starting to make working in Holyhead very difficult, it is time to see if we can locate somewhere else to base our business. We will let you know if and when any decision is made. We thank you all for your patience at the moment as alot of the working day is being taken up getting camera footage and getting it released to the police, we apologize for any delays caused.

If any of you good people happen to be feeling generous....

I did say I was jumping off a cliff :D

In a moment of madness this morning I signed up for a charity abseil on 9th June in aid of Parkinson's Uk.
For those who don't know, I am absolutely terrified of heights - i get the shakes on a 5 foot step ladder - so 150 feet of cliff face is going to be interesting. I just hope they don't think I'm making fun of the sufferers as i stand there shaking!!! :D
Be warned, it does mean that for all those little "no charge" jobs i do over the next few weeks you may find me pointi...ng hopefully at the sponsorship form / collecting pot. They ask us try for £150 sponsorship - which is a pretty tall order in the time left - but can only try :)
Meanwhile, here's a picture of a cliff for y'all.....

Just stop, ok?

Posted at reduced resolution (partly for size and partly so any troublemakers don't know exactly how good these things are....). Not too shabby result for a DIY install!
2 more also covering the area at different angles but their fields can stay secret until / unless needed :)

Ok, having had two screens (back and front) in my car broken in Holyhead while at work within the last month and damage to the new front one within a week of fitting, I'm now giving serious consideration to shutting the shop and just doing the postal work, which is what pays most anyway.
I have absolutely no idea who's doing it or why, but if anyone can give me a single reason why I should continue to support a town that's turning to complete shit I'd appreciate if they could let me know in the comments because i'm REALLY struggling to find the point right now!

Been in for a couple of days with the doors closed to tackle some of the backlog over the past 2 weeks. Things really fly when I get to work without interruptions :D
On a more serious note, we'll be open again from next Monday (3rd Dec). Revised hours will be:
Mondays: 10am - 1pm (to allow time for rehab in the afternoons)
... Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat: 10am - 4pm
Thurs, Sun: Closed.

A quick update.
First of all, thanks for all the messages of support - they've really helped with keeping those positive feelings going!
Doing pretty well with recovery, had an assessment by the rehab team yesterday and am starting on their fitness program on Thursday.
... I'm hoping to have the shop open again in a couple of weeks so thank you for your patience with that! The booklets mostly say 6 weeks or so but that's, frankly, nuts - it's not like watchmaking is physically demanding!
When we do reopen, hours will be changing a bit to make time for things like regular exercise and time to switch off stress levels. Haven't worked out the details yet, but will let y'all know once it's decided.
Again, thanks to everyone for their support and understanding :)
Joe

While I can't fault the message here, I can certainly fault the clock repairing:
(1) It's a wall hanging, weight driven clock. No way does he get it working sitting on the bench with no weights attached.
(2) Ignoring (1) above, neither does he get it running without a pendulum.
... (3) Ignoring (1) & (2), of course the cuckoo isn't going to come out when he has the door locked!
(4) Anyone who squirts oil into a clock from a bottle like that,or PAINT grease in!!! - is a butcher, pure and simple. He deserves all he gets.
Just saying.... :D
