APETS aims to provide holistic, practical and evidence-based training to committed people that wish to embark on a lifelong learning journey towards understanding dogs, and ultimately for some to become Accredited Dog Trainers.
At APETS we are fully conscious that the dog training industry remains unregulated, this means that many courses are unaccredited and not assessed thus providing prospective handlers and trainers with poor qualifications and skills. We believe that this is unacceptable and potentially damaging to the welfare and lives our beloved companions: dogs.
Our philosophy is to always do the best we can to continue to improve and enrich the lives of our much loved dogs. At APETS we believe that when it comes to dogs. . . ’Every Interaction Counts’.
Along with providing a fantastic training venue and education centre; at APETS we are committed to go above and beyond to help you achieve your personal learning goals and ultimately make life better for our canine companions.
We know that there are hundreds of thousands of dedicated individuals working with dogs in the UK. Whether you are a Vet or Vet nurse, Dog Groomer, Dog Walker, Pet Sitter, Kennel Worker, Dog Trainer, or perhaps you are a registered foster carer for an animal rescue charity, our courses can benefit you if you wish to obtain enhanced learning and understanding of the dogs in your care.
A subject extremely close to our hearts is animal rescue. We know that there are countless of front line workers working with traumatised dogs in rescue centres and animal shelters all over the world. Many dogs do not get the opportunity to feel the love and security of having their own home and family.
This is all too often because of behavioural difficulties and training needs. We want to work with you to move towards better understanding the needs of these wonderful animals and therefore increase the chances of re-homing and fostering.
