Ararat Baptist Church is a warm and welcoming church situated in the heart of Whitchurch Village, 3 miles north of Cardiff city centre. We welcome people of all ages, backgrounds and faiths as we seek to make our community a great place to live.
Our large community centre creates a wonderful place that serves the community in many ways. We provide a service for all ages including a thriving Girls' and Boys' Brigade company, Parent and Toddler groups and a Luncheon Club for seniors. The community centre is also used by an extensive amount of outside agencies who hire our rooms. The Harbour group meets 7-9pm tonight in The Ark. This is a small supportive group for anyone looking for a bit of peace from the storms of life. Please get in touch if you would like more information.
A good time was had at our new craft club this afternoon as we did some card making. Open to all, Tuesdays 2-4pm no experience necessary. Come along we'd love to see you :-)

Today is Time to Talk Day, encouraging people to start a conversation about mental health. The reality is that mental health can affect anyone. Statistically, 1 in 4 of us will fight a mental health problem in any given year. No one should have to fear being treated differently because of a mental health problem #TimetoTalk
Our Baby & Toddler group have been collecting items for CWTCH Baby Bank South Wales. Thank you to everyone who brought something in! We will be taking all the donations there on Thursday 14th February so if anyone would like to pick up a pack of wipes or nappies when you’re shopping, please bring them along to Toddlers tomorrow or on Monday. We had a great service this morning led by our Girls Brigade on the theme of celebration. Thanks to all who took part and to all the leaders for the fabulous job they do all through the year.
Good luck to some of our young people from Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade who are taking part in an expedition training day for their Duke of Edinburgh today!
Some members of the church have managed to get there and we’re opening The Ark until 4pm. If you’re out for a walk, pop in for a cuppa and some cake 🍰 ☕️ Please be careful on the surrounding roads, the paths have been cleared inside the church.
❄️ We’re very sorry to say that today’s classes have been cancelled due to the snow.

We had such a great time at Messy Church that we forgot to take photos! It was great to see faces old and new, we hope you all had fun. The next Messy Church will be Sunday 24th February, look forward to seeing you all soon 😃

Messy Church is back this Sunday 27th January! This month we'll be looking at the story of Joseph. We'll have painting, playdough and lots of crafts as well as a baby area for younger ones.
We finish with the story and action songs before we share tea together. This month we'll be having tomato pasta and Sian's Special - Macaroni Cheese!

Our Baby & Toddler group is all set up and ready! We meet from 9.30am - 11.00am and 1.30pm - 3.00pm today. We do have a maximum of 35 children in each session and the morning is always busy! Looking forward to seeing you soon 😃
