Congratulations to one of our Team members, Helen Thompson for completing the London Marathon yesterday and raising a huge amount of money for her chosen charity MIND. We are all very proud, fantastic achievement Helen!

We are very proud of our GP Dr Jenny Boyce who has been declared joint winner at the BEST Awards for Education, Supervision and Training ceremony held in Cardiff this week.
Dr Boyce has been teaching and supervising Medical Students, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacists and GPs for more than 10 years.
This award is a fitting recognition of her commitment and dedication in training future healthcare providers in Wales and the rest of the U.K.
... Da iawn Dr Boyce!

With celebrations across Wales tonight here are some useful tips on staying safe if you’re out this evening and some hints for tomorrow morning too... 🏉🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏆

If you come across someone who has collapsed and not breathing, just by knowing the location of the nearest defibrillator and following the instructions YOU can potentially save a life. Always make sure that you are safe and that help is on the way via 999 first. While CPR and first aid are good skills to learn, they are NOT essential to be able to use one of these machines 🚑❤️ Information from Pembroke Dock Town Council

Dewis Cymru is THE place to go if you want information or advice about your well-being – or want to know how you can help somebody else. When we talk about your well-being, we don’t just mean your health. We mean things like where you live, how safe and secure you feel, getting out and about, and keeping in touch with family and friends. No two people are the same and well-being means different things to different people. So Dewis Cymru is here to help you find out more about what matters to you.

Most sore throats, coughs and colds will get better on their own with a little bit of time and simple remedies. The local chemist is a good place to go for advice if you’re in doubt and the majority in our area can offer some treatments under the Choose Pharmacy scheme free of charge if needed. Remember if you’re in work and need to take time off because you are unwell, your employer should let you self certify for up to 7 days. https://www.gov.uk/taking-sick-leave

With snow forecast for the next few days, here are some of our tips to stay well. ❄️ Check you’ve got enough of any repeat medication now
❄️ Keep some simple pain relief like paracetamol and basics like plasters at home just in case.
... ❄️ Keep warm- does your heating work? Is your meter topped up? Have you got enough oil?
❄️ Keep fed- we’re not advocating panic buying but yes check you’ve got some food in particularly if you live rurally
❄️ Keep safe- although it sounds obvious, ice is slippery, it’s not always obvious though if there’s snow on top.
❄️ While most of us take these things for granted for some the winter can be challenging. If you know of anyone who is vulnerable or might struggle with the change in weather, even just a quick call to check they’re OK can really make a big difference.

Staff going over and above in these terrible conditions to ensure that the people of Pembroke and Pembroke Dock still have professionals on hand should they need them. Some have walked in to work over several miles to keep the service going. Well done all. You get such a bad press on Facebook but you’ve really shown how committed you are to your patients today!!!!

User

I have got to say we have had excellent service with all staff the last ten months, during my husbands ill health ( cancer ) nothing has been to much trouble, I thank you all very much.

User

Friendly very clean. Doctors and nurses very helpful

User

Best place to work ever! Great team with lots of pressure but we all keep smiling no matter what!

User

User

Got an appointment same morning. The nurse practitioner I saw was extremely helpful.

User

if i could give 0 stars i would. soend half hour on the phone to not be able to get an appointment and told to ring back tommorow for the same hit and miss possibilities. worst doctors ever, need more operators and phones lines and also a better receptionist without an attitude. last thing anyone wants when under the weather is to be greeted (if you can call it that) by a miserable condescending person without sypmathy. am changing surgeries asap.

User

You would be better off buying a lottery ticket and going private.

User

You can NEVER get an answer on the phone. When you finally do they never have appointments left you have to call back the next day and start the whole thing over or have to use the emergency appointments. They have to few doctors and a few to many patients. No wonder they can't attract more GPs when they work the ones they have to the bone!

User

When you have friends messaging you from parts of the developing world, wondering how you put up with not being able to get a doctor's appointment, you know that your reality is very skewed indeed. I have lived all over the world and this is by far the worst medical scenario I have ever encountered.

User

Love the way the doctors have changed for 4 years they have been treating me for copd then after emergency admission to hospital the doctors up there discover I have ccf fantastic well I’m getting meds not a good drug no street value frusemide stops my lungs filling with fluid well the fantastic boil on the Bum surgery staff decided I did not need my prescription filled , my lungs. Still filled though nice weekend I’ve had like breathing through a wet sponge the system sucks does anyone know if there’s any leagle redress I can take to avoid this happening

Left a review in the posts from my experience this morning but clearly they've switched posts off!!

Awful system!

User

It’s not there fault there is a shortage off doctors.they do try to fit you in if your bad

I can't vote zero stars

Ive been trying now since the end of feb to get the health checks for 2 of my grown up children with learning difficulties

The drs usually send out both appointments back to back so i can go in with each of them

I have been to the place now every 2 weeks and still no appointment!

I rang the number the counter staff gave me to ring to book one 01646 624192 only to be told yet again that they will contact me but they never bother too do so

These health checks are inportant but yet there is apparantly no such clinic to book it in?

There appointments system is shocking compaired with other places

You start ringing at just b4 8am but 250 attempts later at only 8.20 all there appointments are gone for the day but can have a sit & wait for anything from 1 hour if lucky or 4 hours if unlucky

Its no wonder the poor doctors are leaving (2 in 1 month a week apart)

At this rate theres going to be more deaths especially with them thinking of closing our local hospital too at haverfordwest

User

Doctors and nurses are hard to recruit, but receptionists or answerphones are not.

I was ringing to cancel an appointment but cant get through. I simply dont have time to stay waiting on the phone for hours. So, you can add another missed appointment to the stats and no doubt I will be called selfish and thoughtless when I dont turn up.

User

Despite many letters of extreme concern sent by the local MP Simon Heart this surgery still continues to fail at every level to care for its patients adiquetly.

User

Can never get an answer for an appointment but when you go in they say you got to phone for an appointment though they don't answer!

User

Been trying to ring for days no answer it's ridiculous that's Neyland and Pembroke dock
