Our fantastic colleague Linda has been going out of her way to help customers at our Luton store for the last 22 years – even taking a weekly shopping order from two elderly ladies who are unable to get to the store and delivering their groceries in her own time.
Grandmother Linda, who works on the meat and pizza counters, says she loves chatting to customers and taking the time to get to know them. She said: "We get quite a few elderly customers who come in and they may not ...see anyone else all day, so it's very important to take the time to chat to them and find out how they are." The store's training coordinator Kirsty said: "Linda is lovely and is known for going out of her way for customers. She's got a really great sense of humour and they all really like her – so much so they queue up just to be served by her. They like her pizzas and they like her banter too!" Katie is a big fan of our GoTo Shop trolley, which has transformed her weekly shopping trips with her son Bobby to our Birchwood store in Warrington.
Bobby, who's three, has non-verbal autism and is fascinated by everything going on in the store. Katie says he would try to climb out of the standard trolley, but that after she heard about the GoTo Shop trolleys, which have a secure five-point harness, padded seat and open front, they now use one every time they go in. She said: "It means Bobby is more comfortable and more content, so the shop is just a happier experience for him. It would be great to make more people aware that these trolleys exist." Our Eastbourne colleague Tom is so popular that lots of customers make a beeline for his till for his friendly and helpful service.
Tom, who has cerebral palsy, has worked at the store for 11 years and has become a huge favourite with customers and colleagues alike. Regular shopper William said: "I'm a great believer that if somebody is kind, helpful and gives amazing service, they should be recognised – and this applies to Tom 100 per cent.
