Ask Italian

Went back there because the previous meal was so delicious and this time it didn’t disappoint either. Staff were so friendly, warm and pleasant, it was a pleasure to eat there. Can’t recommend ASK Italian higly enough. Good delicous, hot and very tasty. Desserts were stunning and well made. They seem to use the freshest ingredients which makes all the difference. Love it there.

We visited ASK Italian on Saturday 21 July. The food was lovely and the service excellent which was amazing considering how busy the city centre was. Would certainly consider this restaurant again if we are down for next year’s Speedway GP.

The food was amazing and the waiters and waitresses were very welcoming ... definitely worth a visit if your in the Cardiff area ..

Really nice food, good customer service, just one problem which was that I couldn’t use my student discount on the set menu even though it wasn’t stated in the terms and conditions, given that our meal was good value for money. Amazing cheesecake!

My husband and I were staying in Cardiff for Christmas shopping and thought we would visit Ask Italian as we both love Italian food. On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly young lady and taken to our table. Service was excellent and our drinks and food arrived promptly. We had a small issue with my husbands meal which was dealt with very quickly. The food was very good and we would definitely return if in the area again. Staff are top rate.

Loved it. Friendly staff, hot food, plenty if it. Top marks to be honest. It got very busy which is a clear sign of value for money and nobody was complaining. Far from it, the guests on another table looked over at my food and said "I'll have what he's got!" Just shows how great it looked!

Had a lovely meal here last night. We had a very minor issue with one of the meals. Well done to the waitress and the manager who apologised and and more than recompensed us for the problem even though I had eaten the entire meal (It was delicious) Thank you both, excellent customer service, you are a credit to the company and we will return.

It was my first time dining at Ask I have to say it will not be my last. I enjoyed the food it was delicious and tasted fresh. 2 adult meals 3 course meal no drinks and 1 kids meal came up to £60. The calamari was delicious and the calzones were lush the highlight of the evening was the desert that was epic. The restaurant was clean , the staff friendly and the deco very contemporary. The only downside was the unbalanced tables that were propped up papers we were unfortunate to sit on such a table. This did not hinder us from enjoying our evening.

Service inattentive to the point where we felt almost ignored. Ordered nibbles and were told 15 mins later that they didn't have any more only to still find them on the bill. Food was good though.

Nice staff and food but no atmosphere. Asked for background music but was told the speakers were broken upstairs. Needs a bit of ambience. Felt a bit awkward as it was so quiet.

I love the food and the location. I’m italian, but I didn’t like at your service works. By the way I had a great moment with my friends.

Went here yesterday as a party of 10. Preordered the set menu at £15.95 per person. Food was lovely. Huge cock up with our bill. Overcharged for the food by £50! Had to have the bill redone twice (which took ages). The waitress then gives us the final bill and apologised and said ‘everything is on this bill correctly now’. Fab- paid and left only to have the waitress chase to say we hadn’t paid for our drinks (which were on the bill we just paid)! Highly embarrassing and frustrating. Won’t be returning!

Went for pre-concert meal, food looked good but was cold, unfortunately did not have time to complain and request a replacement as needed to get to concert, will definitely not be returning !!!!!

Went for cocktails as advertised in the window but was told no alcohol without a food order....weird



So went to Bills across the road...lovely, five stars!

This makes me sad scoring it so low. As ASK is normally one if my favourites but the food was really disappointing! I asked for an Al Forno & I’m certain it was just served in a hot plate.

My daughters bolognaise was more meat than sauce.

The staff were helpful. Although the host wouldn’t accept my 25% code because it’s half term. Yet the ts&cs didn’t mention that? Quite disappointed- sorry

Really slow service. When the waiting on staff delivered our cup of coffee they said they didn’t have any tea spoons! Waited 50 minutes for food.

Ordered two starters and two mains. We only had one starter as the waitress “forgot” to put it through. The mains arrived without the one starter plate being cleared away. We had one main discounted from the bill but overall the service was poor and indifferent which is real shame as I’ve always liked it there. It will be the last time I go. Extremely disappointed as it was an early Valentines meal as well. Poor show ASK..!
