Great fun pub. Manager is great and customers friendly. Lots of different drinks on offer.
Overpriced in some respects and you have to catch it on a good night or day when it has friendlier staff in. The landlord is great, dog friendly too. Cosy, wide stock, imagine finding Redbreast 12 and 6years and 3 Jap whiskies in a UK bar. The garden is quaint locals are warm people. Can be a little Uni-orientated and maritime folk, and on the downside gobby Yanks can appear.

Due to an accident in the family I needed to book a room at the very last minute in Bangor. After searching countless websites and making huge number of calls to hotels I managed finally book a room at the Aucklands Arms. This being near to the closing time and unsure when we were able to get out from the A&E, Adie offered to drop the keys to the hospital to make sure we get a room for the night.
Fortunately and huge thanks to the NHS staff we were able to leave the hospital earlier than expected. We then decided to drive home after all and cancelled the booking. We thanked Jen and Adie for their efforts, fully accepting to be charged for the room.
However to my absolute surprise, the staff at Aucklands Arms had decided to refund the booking Full!. This has restored my faith in humanity and yet again the people of Wales has shown their generosity and willing to help others.
Massive thanks again. You really have made my day!
