Badell Aur Restaurant
Reviews
I am a regular visitor to cafes all over North Wales. As a keen cyclist, I often cover 100+ miles in a ride, stopping at 2-3 cafes during a good ride. I come across all sorts of establishments, pubs, cafes, restaurants, mobile units etc. During the last 8 years, I have never felt more exploited for my custom as I did during my visit to The Badell Aur. It gives the impression of a cheap, value for money cafe come chippy from the outside. You order your food and drink, with no clear and visible pricing on display. Only after you've consumed their fayre, are you given the bill. Thankfully we only had 2 mugs of tepid tea and so didn't break the bank but it still cost £3.60!! It is the most expensive greasy spoon type cafe I've ever been to. Prior to that, I had paid £1.50 for a large pot of tea at Llangadfan and 90p for a mug in Machynlleth.
Stay clear of this place until the owners offer a more customer respectful pricing. The owners incidentally are 2 millionaire brothers who own a number of businesses in Bala. They hardly need to charge so much to get by.
Would off gave it 5 stars , but I couldn't open the Tartare sachet.
Worst chips we've ever eaten !! They were greasy, soggy, and burnt. Absolutely disgusting.
Greasy spoon and chippy. Solid breakfast. It does what it says on the tin.
The best chips by far
Lovely chips
Step back to how a fish tea should be. Great fish and chips with good service
