Bala Watersports offers the adventure and excitement of outdoor pursuits, to individuals, families, schools and groups. Our highly skilled and qualified instructors will ensure you have a fantastic time, whether you're a complete beginner, have some limited experience, or are on a more advanced course. We have a wide range of activities on offer, including canoeing /kayaking, climbing /abseiling, windsurfing, sailing, archery, camp craft, raft building, mountain biking, powerboating, hill walking, gorge walking, and white water rafting.
Here in Bala, North Wales, we've got beautiful mountain scenery, a stunning National Park, and arguably the best beginners' and improvers' watersports lake in the UK. Throw in great value for money, and the warm and friendly atmosphere of a family-run business, and you're set for a wonderful time. Come and join in the adventure with us!

Another sunny weekend forecast and we look forward to welcoming you! We have lots of equipment available to hire and we have a sailing course Saturday morning. We go to Bala regularly in the summer months....we have used the canoes and kayaks several times.....and we thought we d try something different. We went gorge walking....there was 7 of us...youngest being 8 and oldest being 40.....mark our guide was fantastic...we explained everything so well....really nice guy...this was just the most amazing experience ever....I would recommend this to anyone who likes a bit of a challenge....you won’t be disappointed .��
We brought our clients along to do the raft building & also did canoeing.. amazing experience & great. 100% recommend going !

Would recommend spending time in or on the lake. Very professional and enjoyable. Will definitely make the time to do some more this year here. Thanks again.
Mark and Rachel took 14 of us on the 1/2 day gorge walk. It was fantastic. Really well organised and great fun. Love the abseiling at the end.

Lovely afternoon spent here kayaking and paddle boarding . Highly recommend.
Had a 2hr stop off,on our way home from Aberystwyth,lovely place to sit at the lake,and watch all the activities going on,while having a bite to eat,and a drink
Great experience rafting. Instructor and site team were excellent. �
Great day sailing course with Tom as an instructor ......patient, knowledgable and a good teacher. Really enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to come again!
Great Weather, Breakfast near the car park was lovely, the car park was not expensive.
The lake was a picture of tranquilty one side all hill tops and the other tree lined.
The equipment was good and our host most very helpful.
The wife and I had a a fantastic day on our wedding anniversary. Thank you

Fantastic day spent gorge walking with Mark and team. Loved every moment and made up with conquering a few fears. Would highly recommend. Loved the plunging, sliding, swimming and abseiling. Will return and highly recommend. Fab way to experience mother nature at its very best.
Fab sunny day yesterday on the lake!...and our pooch loved it too! Oooo & go and chat to the warden & co, great guys!!
Did the sailing experience today with my boyfriend and we both loved it! Mark was great and we will be back for more adventures!

Awesome two days with Mark learning to sail in my boat. Top sailing instructor/coach. Would highly recommend coming to Bala Watersports and learning to sail with Mark, or indeed doing the many other outdoor activities the team offer! Great times.
Amazing lake lady at the boat house was very helpfull and the cafe is great�
Amazing gorge walking day today. Mark was fantastic and his expertise and knowledge made the day perfect. Great was to see areas of this beautiful area you wouldn't normally see whilst having great fun and testing your boundaries. Thank you for everything
We visited on Sunday 10th, we arrived around 40 mins early (you are asked to arrive 20 mins early) and we sent away - no problem as we had a cup of tea in the cafe round the corner. Parking was pay and display. We did Canoeing and Kayaking - one in our wetsuits (complete with holes in the knees) we were given some basic instructions and then away we went in the Canoes. Bit dangerous having to man handle them down the slippery rocks - must be a better way using the jetty? Or provide appropriate footwear - one of the couples badly slipped on the rocks. Canoes were ok but the instructor was not very complimentary about the Italian couple who were going round in circles (a bit unprofessional). Then into the Kayaks where the main problems started. The equipment was not great - there was no adjustable seats or foot rests in the Kayaks which made the seating position extremely uncomfortable. Make sure to bring your own gloves! Ladies shower was cold and men's shower was 50p which would have been nice to be told before we got changed.
