☀️ What a day! Our Year 1 children celebrated the end of a fantastic first year of school today at the Walled Garden. Ice cream, ice lollies, games and adventures in the park made for a great morning.

Unfortunately our projector was out of action for the Year 7 Leavers’ Assembly yesterday (call it an early summer holiday!). We missed out on a trip down memory lane looking back at photos of our Year 7s in their younger days. If you’d like to see them, follow this link to our school website where they have been uploaded:

💙💚 A day of mixed emotions at our Year 7 Leavers’ Assembly today. We will miss this fantastic year group very much but are so proud of the caring and talented young people they have become and excited for the new journey that lies ahead of them. Thank you to Mrs Foster, the principal of Strangford College, who presented the children with their awards, records of achievement and shared words of encouragement with them.

🎬 We were very excited this week to receive the recording of our 2019 show, ‘Porridge’ from Jonny Sanlon Media.
🔹If you’d like to watch the whole performance, DVDs and digital download codes are available from the school office for £8.🔹
Here is a little reminder of the fantastic singing, acting and dancing from our Year 6 and 7 children..

Thankfully it stayed dry and the year 6’s were able to get over to the Walled Garden this morning to enjoy the sunshine. We spent time sketching different trees, shrubs and sculptures. The children were complimented on their behaviour by others visiting the garden 😊🐝🌤🌸🌺🌳

A great netball match took place on Monday between the Northern Ireland schools‘ champions and the BCIPS staff! The whole school cheered the girls on with the final result a very close 11-10 to the staff! A great afternoon with a lot of money raised for the Mary Peters Trust. Thank you for all your donations 🌟

🏐 Our Year 6 netball team won the Crawford Cup for Netball yesterday. What an amazing start to the 2019/2020 season!

On Friday, Year 5 had a great day celebrating all they had learnt about their current topic of Ancient Egypt. Many of the children (and staff!) dressed as Ancient Egyptians and enjoyed looking at each other’s incredible projects that they’ve been creating at home for the last few weeks! They even joined in dancing to ‘Walk like an Egyptian!’ Year 5’s, you all looked amazing!

Thank you to everyone who came to support our PTA Summer Fair! Our PTA did a fantastic job organising and the 'unlimited' £5 ticket was a hit - everyone had a ball! Even the light rain didn't ruin the make-up or the hair dye. Thank you so much to all the parent volunteers who gave up their Friday afternoon to make this event such a success...and to the outside caterers and sugar filled stalls for feeding everyone!

🎉 Only 2 sleeps until our PTA Summer Fair! Parents and family members, can you help out? We really need volunteers to help make this an amazing, fun day. If you can help out for all or part of the fair, please contact your class rep, a PTA member or school reception. Thank you 😊

🏐 Our ‘netball mums’ have asked us to pass this message of thanks on to everyone who supported their fundraising. Huge thanks also to them for organising such a successful fundraising effort! 😊
We, ‘The Netball Mums’, would like to take this opportunity to THANK each and every one of you who helped support us in raising the monies needed to host the netball finals.
Not only did we raise the £1200 needed for the tournament, we were also able to buy for the team and all future ...teams: 2x Coach hoodies, 16x hoodies for the A & B teams, 16x socks, 8x B team polo shirts, extra large kit bag, first aid kit, new netballs, water bottle holder, ball carrier bag, and hopefully new net posts.
WE THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR GENEROSITY & KINDNESS!

☀️Our annual PTA summer fair is this Friday! If you you want to take advantage of our £5 unlimited games access offer, send the slip (found at the bottom of the flyer sent home with each child) into your child’s teacher with £5 before Friday.
It promises to be a fun afternoon and will raise money for the benefit of our children. Donations of new toys for the lucky dip, cakes & buns and bottles will be gratefully accepted before Friday morning.
Thank you for your support! 😊
