Pros: Excellent fitness facilities, good cleanliness, long opening hours, plenty of classes and easy parking
Cons: Loud music in main gym drowns out sound from headphones with own device or TV's and radio on the machines. Also, uncomfortably sticky and warm (especially upstairs!) with no air circulating... at 4-5 x cost of nearby budget gyms it shouldn't eat too much into profits to turn on the air con...

I was 99% sure i was going to Join Bannatyne Newport, but wanted to have a trial day just to make sure it was the right fit and feel for me. When i called and explained this to the General Manager, they said i will have to pay £15 to purchase a day pass. I reiterated i want to join and this is just a formality (in general i wont try anything before i buy it), and again the General Manager said i will still have to pay £15 to try the gym for one day. Personally the lack of flexibility rang alarm bells and after reading other negative reviews i decided not to join, my reason being - if they weren't helpful before my contract, why would they help when they got me locked into a £400+ 12 month contract. Begs the question, how many £400 a year contracts they have lost because they force you to pay £15 to try the gym first. Not very good business sense.

Great facilities, swimming, classes, gym, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room. Sadly membership loyalty isn't rewarded and it's an insult 6 wks after annual membership ended to send details of a discounted offer saving over £60 and just a £1 joining fee yet my renewal had a £15 fee. Will not go back as doesn't appreciate loyal customers

Friendly and helpful staff. All equipment is well looked after and it makes working out enjoyable

I have been a member for seven years. Beung diligent about class participation has helped a lung problem considerably.
Moreover, the staff are caring, dedicated etc.
The cateting is good...and once monthly there is a quiz....with free eats..
Seriously, the place is exceptionally well run.

Great staff who are always friendly. Also great value for money as the gym has top rated equipment and classes.
