Banner Theatre creates powerful, innovative, issue-based multimedia productions for community and labour unions audiences.

Banner Theatre pioneered in use of documentary theatre techniques. We incorporate video of interviews, video and photo documentation from protests into our theatre performances with a lot of ironic and critical songs. We call it “actuality” – ordinary people’s words captured by camera.

Banner tours consistently to Britain’s trade unionists, a potential audience of eight million. The company has performed at trade union events, pubs, clubs, theatres, festivals and rallies over the past 40 years.
