where to start-this has been our regular treat when down on Gower.Beautiful fresh food, cooked in front of us,accompanied by good conversation with the master chef, occasional classical music,(as well as sound of contented budgies chirping away in the corner whilst tucking into their millet sticks)..the special omelettes are highly recommended, and as for the falafels-o my,done to his very own secret special recipe-the best I have ever tasted! Being vegetarian, I can't comment on the meat dishes from personal experience, other than to say they also look and smell delicious and seem to be much appreciated by all who order them..All the salads and toppings are kept in sparkly clean glass containers,a lovely change from plastic boxes so often used.Well worth enquiring about falafels before arriving,to avoid arriving during an 'in between' period, where one batch has been used up,and the next lot needs to marinade before being ready to be cooked..Highly recommend the Baraka experience!

User

if your ever in or going through Pen-Clawdd (Swansea) stop off at a little hut on the main road called the Baraka: Taste of the Med. I finally got to try shawarma. Amazing fella cooked it fresh and told me about the dishes history involving 9 different fresh herbs. Its a stunning dish, what a total surprise, can’t recommend him enough :)

User

awsome food and a real freindly dude cooking it have past many times but tried it out today for the first time had the falafel and another dish which were awsome in flavour and filling aswell definately go back

User

We arrived to find nothing made up - everything was made fresh in front of us... we were were offered a money back guarantee on these being the best falafels we had ever eaten, and no refund was needed. What a gem to find in Penclawdd.

User

Tofiq is both an excellent chap to chinwag with and a superb chef. The food he produces in this little bistro is phenomenal and I will continue to return here time and again.

User

This place is awesome , top quality food all the time , very reasonable , don't hesitate to call here , and he's a top man to!!

User

Stopped by for lunch today, the chicken curry was top notch, in fact, got to be the best curry in Swansea, better than Rasoi, Mumbai, Patti Raj to name a few!

5 stars, will be back soon

User

Stoped here on the way back from Broughton Bay, this place came highly recommended. Can’t rate the food highly enough, cooked fresh in front of you, good convo with the owner and very reasonable price for such a portion. Will definitely be calling in again next time I pass

User

Ordered a falafel wrap, only ate half as wife ate the rest after tasting it!!! Cancelled walk on beach to go back and bought a beef curry and chicken curry....cooked to order. Lovely chap and amazing food. I never eat out as normally I can cook it better but this time I have to give in and enjoy!!!

User

Omg.... beautiful. The lamb is to die for. Everything was perfectly cooked.the food was preped and cooked in front of us.i can't wait to go back in the evening to try his curry. Don't go to cks for a pasty,go next door for fresh amazing Mediterranean food.

User

Just sampled the delights of Baraka, freshly cook food of a very high standard. Highly recommend!! 👌👍

User

I called in there for a falafel wrap and it was outstanding. Will definitely be back. The curry looks stunning too. Could do with some prawn dishes.

User

Had our first meal there last week and was very impressed, not only by the excellent food, but by the very friendly owner too. Food cooked freshly to order and the environment was spotlessly clean. I would certainly recommend folks to give it a try, we will certainly be going there again.

User

Had a fantastic meal for 4 from there last night, falafel and a huge salad and houmous as a starter followed by a large Chicken Curry and and a large Lamb curry. Also had a sharwarma for my nephew. All of the dishes were amazing and at a great price. Well done Taufik , see you soon.

User

Delicious, authentic and fresh food.

A hidden gem that needs to be somewhere with more footfall than Penclawdd as it just does not get the visibility at it's current location..

User

Called here yesterday hoping for a Lamb shawarma, only to be informed that the lamb wasn't ready and he couldn't serve chewy lamb, and would be at least 30mins before it was ready. That's exactly the kind of thing you want to hear, this guy cares about serving quality food and would rather not serve something than have it below his standards. Gavin been once before we decided that it was worth the wait so went for a little walk to kill some time, and boy was it worth it. I don't have many shawarma experiences to compare this with but it was absolutely amazing. Really good quality food served with a friendly smile, I will forever plan all future journeys to the Gower to go via Penclawdd and call at Baraka for food. Superb

User

Best falafel wrap ever. Curry amazing. Stumbled upon the place by accident. A foodie must

User

Best falafel ever. Shawarma delicious. Chef charming. Having driven past many times decided to stop for lunch today. Will be very hard to drive past now!

User

Amazingly fresh and flavour-laden food cooked in front of your eyes by the affable Taufik, if you're in a hurry phone your order ahead as it can get busy at peak times, but the wait is worth it! We had a very generous beef shawarma wrap and a chicken curry, both equally as good as any fine restaurant and better than many. Free hot drink with many choices. Keep up the good work Taufik!
