It's not every day that you'll get the chance to see something like this, here's a beauty of a Fender that I had the pleasure of working on before Christmas - and it's from 1962!
Rerfretted with Stainless Steel fretwire and setup in the hope it'll last another 50+ years. Beautiful sounding guitar, it really did ring

Happy new year everyone!
I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who’s been supporting me for almost 2 years now - crazy to think it’s been that long we officially opened.
To kick off the new year I’d like to announce that I’ll now be offering call out guitar lessons in Greater Bargoed and the surrounding areas -
... Those who know me personally will know I’ve been teaching on and off for the last 5 or so years, but due to popular demand I’ve decided to cement it into my schedule. You can check out my website for pricing and more information, or of course feel free to message me directly.

I have to say these Sire basses are really well put together, 3rd Marcus Miller signature to make its way to the workbench and they've all been as solid as each other.
One setup later and now it plays like a signature model as well as sounding like one - colour me impressed!

Here's a couple clips that I shot a few weeks ago after refretting and restoring this 1973 Fender Telecaster Deluxe, this guitar had some serious mojo and now plays like a dream - bends were silky smooth with the extra wide wire on it!
Regratably I got caught up in playing it and forgot to snap good pics of the end result, but at least you get to hear just how great this sounds (minus my shoddy playing).
Audio recorded directly from a DI signal with a Blues JR profile

Here some of the basses to recently make their way through the shop; the Yamaha’s fretboard really came to life after a deep clean and condition

This was an absolute blast to work with, here’s a MIJ 82’ Precision Bass that was recently restored to its factory setup.
It came in with active pups and the electronics from a Music Man, the new cavities were re routed and filled before it had a new vintage white finish and a good clean up on the hardware.

Here’s one that’s currently on the bench:
A 73’ Fender Deluxe Tele needing a good amount of tlc (and new frets).
In the last picture you can see just how little material was left from the original frets when compared to a piece of medium fretwire. What’s also interesting to note is just how wide the original fretwire actually is!

This is absolutely a job I wish I had more photos from, it’s tough to pick my favourite project however restoring this 96’ Samick built Walnut 335 is definitely a contender.
In terms of hardware we had a new set of fully closed pickup covers, a Kluson Nashville bridge, and a new MIJ tailpiece installed. Genuinely a pleasure to work with, couldn’t have been happier with the result, it played and sounded like a dream!

It’s been a busy few weeks since I last updated the page, here’s a handful of the guitars that made their way onto the bench:
Jobs on these include replacement pickup covers & sealing, new bridges, new pups, setups, and some minor fret work. Points to whoever can guess which jobs these guitar got!
I’ll be updating the page more frequently from here on out, if you like interesting guitars keep your eyes peeled for some 6 string eye candy over the next few days 🎸🎸🎸

Have many of you heard about the Gibson trademark court cases?
Gibson have recently lost their appeal in EU court to sue Dean guitars for the Flying V shape
Personally I think the more guitar shapes the better, but that’s me, what are your thoughts on this one?
