Our Christmas 2018 order book is well and truly open and our sourcing and butchery plans are underway. Be it Usk Vale Turkeys, traditional matured beef or local lamb, you've only got a few weeks to decide what you'd like us to create for you. The meal of the year needs to be that extra bit special and we are only happy to help.

It looks as though autumn πŸ‚has arrived. Today's casserole was slightly different. The cut used was called the Hanger Steak or Onglet, primarily for its flavour and tenderness. Hand diced into inch chunks ensuring an ultimate stewing effect.........Yummy!!

We are pleased to say it's business as usual for us today. Lyn & Rory have done a marvellous job this morning making sure we have enough winter warming meat for all our village customers πŸ‘

We've got a very busy few weeks ahead. Maturing extra volumes to cover Mothers Day and soon after Easter. Lamb is always a excellent favourite this time of year, which is why we are sourcing our current lamb from Mr Tony Thomas and his Family at Pancross Farm, Llancarfan.....3 miles from the shop door!

2018 Valentines is only a few days away. Our Hardy beef is maturing nicely thank you, being 28 days old tomorrow. Wouldn't it be a real treat to enjoy a couple of steaks from our aged range of T. Bone, Sirloin, Rump, Rib Eye and of course a succulent Fillet........absolutely delicious ❀️❀️❀️❀️

It does make our job easier when you have trusted farmers with full traceability. The Hardy's at New Farm, Cwm Ciddy, first started supplying our shop in Rhoose over 30 years ago. Now into third generation, we have just started sourcing this seasons beef on Monday this week. They produce the cattle and we produce the beef....no easier combination! Look out for our dry aged product ready for the end of January.......Better than ever!

We started making plans for our Christmas beef at the beginning of November. If you fancy a change from traditional Turkey we have beef sourced from Gwyn Williams Hill Farm and Len Attewell Chapel Farm. Using the same ageing methods for over 40 years we can ensure our beef for your Christmas is second to none.
