Bayart Cardiff Description
BayArt is artist-led at its heart, embedded within a beautiful, intimate, creative space in one of Cardiff Bay’s busy streets. Butetown Artists occupy 16 studios above the gallery, along with a studio flat suitable as an artist residency /research space. BayArt gallery exists to support fine art practice, through offering a platform for exhibitions to a range of emerging and mid career artists, from Wales and further afield. BayArt also offers interpretation of its exhibitions for a range of different audiences through artists talks, seminars and workshops. Key to every show is the invitation to schools to work with the gallery on projects to develop children’s and teacher’s understanding of contemporary art. The approach is one of inclusivity and accessibility, seeing the gallery as a creative space, in which art can be experienced and explored.
