Next door to Cae Groes is a sports centre with a climbing wall.

Travel - It is four miles from Betws y Coed along the A470. As soon as you enter Llanrwst (from Betws y Coed) take the first right (before the bridge) and then immediately (only five yards further! ) right into Nebo Road. The drive to Cae Groes is on the left after about half a mile immediately before the high chain link fence of the Leisure Centre.

Description - Cae Groes consists of a converted farmhouse and four self-contained flatlets, a barn with table tennis table and space for mountain bike storage, a drying room and male and female shower /toilet block. There is a large grassed garden and adequate space for car parking.

The four flatlets are in a separate two-storey block. Each unit is centrally heated and has its own toilet and lounge-diner-kitchen with a fridge. Each unit has accommodation for five people: A bed-settee provides two beds and a small separate room has a two-bedded bunk. There is a campbed for the fifth bed.

RAVEN CRAG

Travel - From Ambleside take the A593 towards Coniston and turn right at Skelwith Bridge onto the B5343. Continue along this road through the villages of Elterwater and Chapel Stile, past the New Dungeon Ghyll hotel, and one mile later turn right into the drive leading to the Old Dungeon Ghyll hotel. Follow the drive to the right of the hotel which leads up behind the hotel to Raven Crag.

Upon arrival – You may drive up to the cottage to unload cars but only three cars may park there – a restriction imposed by the National Trust. Additional parking is available a hundred yards away in the National Trust car park beside the Old Dungeon Ghyll hotel. Four free-parking passes for this car park can be obtained from the window sill beside the telephone in Raven Crag. Please remember to return these passes when you leave.
