About Beales Fish & Chip Restaurant, Porthcawl
In 1930 Robert Beale Senior and his son Arthur Robert Beale, builders of the day built the premises.
In 1937 Arthur Robert Beale with his wife Lilian May opened BealeŌĆÖs Park Fish Restaurant. Through the Second World War, soldiers of many nationalities came to the shop, some eating their chips from their helmets, while their rifles were stored in the toilets.
Then enlisting the help of children Mary, John & June, Park Fish Restaurant became a part of Porthcawl. In the mid 70s, son Arthur William & wife Marilyn took the helm, until in 2002 grandchildren Nicholas, Gareth & Helen modernised and extended the Restaurant which they successfully run to this day!
Truly a family business for over 70 years!

Bracelet found in the take away area of Beales on Saturday 9th March around 3pm.
We suspect it to be sentimental to it's owner and would really like to reunite them.

We regularly make the journey from Caerphilly to Porthcawl for a meal at Beales. The best fish n chips in South Wales. The staff are always polite and helpful.
Top meal im a very fussy fish and chips man, and this was mega a big chunky cod well cooked with beautiful chips ’┐Į top job I will be back. I just wish I could bring my dog in
To be honest I have to be in the mood for chips. Having spent all day at Rest Bay, we stumbled upon you on our way home early evening.
All 4 of us ordered different meals. All were tasty. The portions were generous and service was friendly. I had curry sauce and chips and it took me right back to my childhood. It was delicious and I finished every single mouthful.
We will definitely make this a tradition now when we visit your way. Thank you.
The best fish shop in South Wales. We come down from Aberdare just to have a meal in the restaurant. The chicken curry is superb.

My partner & I popped in for Our tea Friday teatime, we were seated and served very promptly by a lovely young man.
Our food arrived and it looked and smelt and tasted so good.

Stopped for lunch with the family and what a meal it was, we couldnt fault it in any way. The staff were brilliant, really helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back next time we visit the fair.
Only on holiday 4 days ate take out fish and chips from beales twice in that time. Great service, good portions, quality food. Irish curry, never heard of it but it was delicious. Came recommended to us by friends and didn't disappoint!

Love a trip to Porthcawl for a visit to Beales. Sometimes we have a takeaway, this time we had a sit down meal. Seated and served really quickly, waitress was very friendly. The childrenŌĆÖs mini fish and chips is such good value for money. CanŌĆÖt wait for our next visit.
I have never had a bad meal here. The battered fish is cooked to perfection, with thick pieces of cod. The chips are beautifully cooked. I am looking forwards to trying out the new restaurant upstairs soon. Everyone is So friendly it looks like all who work here, enjoy their jobs. Its a joy to see. Congratulations keep up the good work.
I go to Beales for their steak only pies. They are the best and full of meat never any gristle. Chips are lush too!

Beales restaurant is fantastic. Best fish and chips around Also the faggots and peas are the best. Staff are really friendly. Always service with a smile. We travel 50 mins just to have a meal there. ¤æŹ¤æŹ¤śŹ¤śŹ
Always top quality food - lovely crispy batter, never a drop of grease. The new makeover is very classy!
My son had cod n chips which were lovely, me n hubby had chicken n chips, breast needs to be bigger and crisp the skin up, think it was warmed up again in microwave so wouldn't have again, staff were nice.
Polite staff. Decided to eat in to feed and change baby after sitting and ordering I asked about baby changing. Sadly they donŌĆÖt have. The toilet is definitely big enough to have a fold down one on the wall. Just an idea ’┐Į
Not as good as it used to be. Sausage was cooked ok, but a bit too much fat in it. Chips tasted like they'd just been kept warm for a long time. Dissapointed
The staff girls were not nice wen I was served for a fish and chips with my friend. the girl didn't hand the change back to my hand she dropped it on the counter in front of me like putting rubbish down. and after the ather girl wen the fish and chips were done and handed over she only offer my friend a plastic fork just him. no look to me. I never give them bisnass again!!!!
