Ben Bowns International Goaltending Clinic

Ben Bowns International Goalie Clinic is an ice hockey goalie school that is passionate about developing goalies of all ages. Coaches are as enthusiastic as the participants and learning is made fun and easy for all.

BeBIG Clinic is a goalie clinic started up by Ben Bowns.

Ben is currently playing for the Cardiff Devils in the EIHL as well as currently playing for the Great Britain National Team.

In the 2012-2013 season Ben made the step up to the Elite League with the Hull Stingrays, signing a 2-year deal meaning that he stays at the club for the 2013-2014 season as well. During his first campaign Ben impressed with a final save percentage of 90. 6% . He also made his international debut for Team GB in Riga, Latvia, playing in the 2014 Winter Olympic Qualifiers. His second season in Hull saw him finish the season with a save percentage of 90. 7% while recording the most saves in the league by any goalie along with setting the franchise record for most wins by a goalie in a single season.

Ben had a rich junior career playing at Sheffield from the age of 6, winning 8 league titles and 9 national titles during his junior career. He then started his senior career off with the Sheffield Spartans in the ENL1 North where in his sole season at that level, helped the team to win a league title and ENL Cup title. Ben then made the step up to EPL level with the Sheffield Scimitars in 2009 where he went on to play there for 3 years (the last two with the newly named Sheffield Steeldogs). In the 2011-2012 season Ben had a stand out year, helping his team achieve a 3rd place league position, an EPL cup final birth and a EPL Playoff semi-final appearance, he was also selected in the EPL First All-Star Team after recording a 93% save percentage and a 2. 40GAA.

On the international circuit Ben won a silver medal in 07-08 with the GB u18s at the Div. 2 World Championships. The year after he won a Gold medal at the u18s Div. 2 World Championships. In the 09-10 season, Ben won a Gold medal at the u20s Div. 2 World Championships, the the year after he won a Bronze medal at the Div. 1 u20s World Championship where he also won personal awards: the Great Britain MVP, GB Supporters Club Player of the Tournament and also Best Goalie of the Championship. That same year Ben travelled to Ukraine with the GB senior team where they won a Silver medal at Div. 1 level.

However, Ben’s standout season so far came during the 2014-2015 season, his first at the Cardiff Devils where he helped the club win the Challenge Cup Championship, the clubs first championship in 9 years! Along the way, Ben recorded a 90. 9% save percentage, a 2. 58GAA and recorded a massive 7 shutouts along the way! After the domestic season had finished Ben played a big part in helping the Great Britain national team achieve a Sliver medal at the Div. 1B World Championships, recording a save percentage of 91. 8% and a 2. 00GAA.

Ben, although still young at 24 years old has achieved quite a lot in his career so far and is hoping to build on what he's already achieved, he is always striving to improve his game. His enthusiasm for goaltending will be seen by all who attend the clinic and we can assure that although intense, the participants' fun level will be maximised because Ben is a strong believer in that you don't learn without fun and if you don't enjoy something there's no point doing it!
