Bethan Kate'S Tearoom

Hi everyone! Just wanted to let everyone know that our little tearoom baby arrived safely into the world & we're totally in love!! Ives Elis Oakman was born on the 17th December at 3.17am weighing a strong 9lbs (must've been all that cake!!). Myself & Mark are so so happy & loving this Christmas as new parents and can't get enough of our little pudding! Many of you have been with us since the beginning and have watched my ever growing belly so we wanted to share our news with everyone who's supported us ❤️💙 Hope you're all having a lovely Christmas and wishing you all a wonderful New Year lots of love Bethan, Mark & baby Ives Xxxx

And that is it!! We have turned the closed sign on Bethan Kate’s Tearoom for the very last time. To say there’s been a few tears would be an under statement!! Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to every single person who’s come in to visit, from my amazing supportive family and friends, to those lovely people who’ve just popped in once, to those who I’m now lucky enough to call good friends. It’s meant the world and has left me with the most wonderful memories.
As Mark ...said in his post, thank you to my wonderful family & friends who’ve helped whenever they’ve been able to with clearing, washing up & many other things, it’s been a bigger help than you could imagine & I’ve appreciated it so much. To those customers who have been understanding when the Tearooms been manic, have carried plates and teapots downstairs to help me - especially with my ever growing belly!! & those who have just made all the hard work worth it with your kind words & lovely chats, thank you. It’s been a crazy and very tiring time but one I’ll never forget.
Most of all thank you to my incredible husband Mark, I could never have done any of this without his unwavering support and love, his washing up skills, laughter & everything he’s done for me since we opened, which is far too much to even begin saying. I really do have the most amazing husband in the world.
So so lovely to see so many of you today & over the past week, it’s been emotional but incredible, thank you for the beautiful cards, presents & flowers ❤️
Keep an eye out for updates, I’m sure this won’t be the end of Bethan Kate’s 😉
But for now I’m off to finally put my feet up & enjoy a well deserved maternity leave!! ☺️

So today is our very last day in the tearoom, we are open from 10am-3pm for cake and drinks! Would love to see as many of you to say goodbye, so many wonderful customers and friends have been in already the place has been full since 10am! But grabbed a quiet 5 minutes to let everyone know we’ll be open for the last day until 3pm (or until the cake runs out!!) ❤️ Xxx

As many of you know, me and Mark are expecting our first baby at the beginning of December. There’s been lots of questions from you all about what I’m planning on doing with the tearoom. I’ve been quite vague in my answers as, truth be known, I didn’t know. All I knew was that in no certain way was I going to permanently turn the close sign.
However, after a few uncertain weeks (& many tears) it’s been confirmed that the Landlady is strongly unwilling to renew the lease on ...the building, meaning the tearoom has no home for myself or anyone else.
I’m absolutely heartbroken, as myself, and Lady Jane before me, have worked tirelessly to build this business into what it is, a cosy, happy place where anyone is welcome with a pot of tea and a (massive!!) piece of homemade cake! The last thing I ever wanted was for the tearoom to have to close down permanently, but I’m afraid the choice has been taken out of my hands.
I want to say to every single person who’s ever supported us the biggest Thank You. I appreciate it more than you’ll ever know and please know that the tearoom and anyone who’s ever come in, has left me with the best memories and friends.
I’ll be closing the doors for the last time in around three weeks on Saturday 27th October and I’d love to see as many of you before then as possible. It’s so bitter sweet as although they’ll be many many tears the day I close here, it’ll also be a happy one as I get to start my maternity leave and we’ll be starting our new chapter as parents.
I’m sorry I couldn’t be posting more happy news, please if any of you have vouchers please book in & use them as soon as possible, I wouldn’t want you to miss out.
