User

You could complain about the effeciency of the uplift but i can still got 7-8 runs on one day as a slow rider with a puncture. There is now denying that this amount of world class tracks for every rider doesn't come anywhere else in britain and the trails there always leave me buzzing. Such a rad place.

User

Visited yesterday and it was incredible. Baking hot; around 26-28C and the trails were baked solid which meant it was so fast. Pre-booked Uplift system was superb, like the ultimate theme park. ride, uplift, repeat. no waiting around. there was a chronic water shortage which meant portaloos were in action, but not an issue. The trails were amazing, very well marked so you could just ride super fast from start to finish and great variety. hire bike too was perfect, large trek remedy 8, it absolutely devoured the trails and jumps. it's a long way from chester but will definitely go back!

User

Very Friendly vey helpful staff. And the trails are all time awesome well maintained and super fun to blaze down . Will definitely be going back again

User

Uplift service was awesome today. I was in the pay as you ride queue. Loads of buses at the ready. Spot on

User

Two days of high octane, fun filled riding. So many trail options (really well built and maintained) that we didn’t get them all done! First rate facilities; very good food at the onsite cafe with plenty of options. The wild boar and chorizo burger was class! Fast and efficient uplift service, well worth the investment. Good retail shop which came in handy as my own Camelback water bladder burst and I was able to buy a new one there and then. Bike washing facilities for £1 and an on-site bike workshop/mechanic too. Will definitely be coming back. I read some reviews here about the uplift stopping for lunch; we were here all day Fri and Sat and the service was reduced at lunch, but ran all day without interruption. Thanks BPW!

User

This is by far and away the best place to ride mountain bikes in the UK. The trails are varied, the uplift service is efficient, the shop is well stocked, the staff are helpful and polite and every time I leave I am already planning how I can fit in the next trip. Keep up the good work guys.

User

The place is awesome! Uplift drivers are great trails are amazing and food is bang on ! Totally recommend 🤘

User

So much to ride, up lift is great, trails are so good and great for different abilities, when you’ve done riding the cafe is great place to relax delicious food and drink, the staff well great bunch of people kind helpful and awesome

User

Second visit now, just as awesome. We got 9 uplifts in starting at 10am and finished at 3.45. Managed 13 on my last trip but got there for the first uplift.

User

Played there yesterday at the welsh gravity enduro, despite a broken rear shock, still managed the three runs and had an awesome time

User

Massive thanks to the boys in the workshop today for taking on the issue with my gears, always busy but helped me out before i fly to France, weight off my shoulders

User

Massive thanks to Phil and the team, my son Quillan is really happy with his new bike!

See you all soon for another ride

User

Love this place. As a family we ride here regularly. Also staff in the maintenance department r great with there advice and help.

User

Love it, lots of trails to choose from don't underestimate the blues they are fast and fun,all the trails run good in the wet and dry out really quick, we visited may Bank holiday and there was an uplift waiting for us every time we got to the bottom no queing, great cafe and bikewash too,

User

June 2018, uplift was running a treat, if missed one another was there 2 mins later, must have been 8 buses on the go. Trails were awesome and variety is excellent. Place is mega and you can see what they are trying to do there so don’t knock them for it

User

I was at BPW yesterday for the first time and found it to be a fantastic facility. Firstly when you go and sign in the whole process is slick and then the up lifts were rapid, no less than three buses waiting to take you to the top. Once at the top you have the choice of some of the best made/maintained trails I've ridden in the uk.

My mate and I drove down from Cumbria and didn't stop talking about how good root manoeuvre is all the way up th M6, if your happy on Red routes you have to give it a shot.

User

I love bike park Wales but the uplift system doesn't work properly.(and as it gets busier is only getting worse) I understand they want people to book in advance but this isn't the Victorian times class systems should be gone! Being in the day pass que waiting an hour while you see the same people in the other que go past 2-3 times just isn't acceptable . If they got rid of the 2 que system I can't see how it would upset anyone and would give a lot of people a better experiance. I still think people would pay in advance for the convinence. I used to go up any day I could last minute. Now unless I booked it 3 months in advance I will have to think twice

User

Hoofing place, massive and brilliant selection of routes, lots of trails there for everyone and all levels. Went in wet and snow conditions today, can't imagine what it's like in the dry!

User

Great to everyone! From begginers (like me) to pros everyone is welcome and I can guarantee you will have a wicked time. The staff at Bike Park Wales are super nice and always ready to help you with anything you need! Glad I can make it there almost every week and that can see my skills improving after every ride

User

Great days riding with my 9 year old today!

Uplift has improved immensely, drivers went out of their way to accommodate the smaller wheels, thank you!

Tracks were mint,we'll be back very soon.

Loved the bilingualism as well.(Y)

User

Great Day at BPW! amazing variety of trails all in good condition and loads of flow! good food, good uplift!

User

First time visit and was fabulous from start to finish. Uplift ran like clockwork great breakfast butty to start all in all great time and will be back

User

First time i visited bike park wales today. And it was amazing. Staff were super friendly and happy to help with loading the bikes up as it was my first time. great atmosphere. Cant wait to go back

User

First time here and absolutely loved it. So much so I have booked to come back in may. Loved insufficient funds and sixstapod. Great trails guys keep up the good work

User

Fantastic improvement!!!! I've visited many times and have been dissapointed with not enough vans...long queues and shut down at lunch time BUT it's all changed...for the better. On Friday there were 9 uplift vans and half of them carried on through lunchtime. The daily riding pass has jumped up from £7 to £10. The only suggestion that I have BPW is that I notice changes to trails where you add a much bigger drop e.g. Rim dinger which surprised me but I was committed and had to go over. A few months ago it wasn't as big. How about if you change any features you put a big board just outside the main entrance letting people know. I think that would be a big help. Not a criticism...just a suggestion. Thank you for yet another amazing day. The improvements are great and noticeable.

DOWN THE DEVIL'S PLAYGROUND

By Daniel Ayres

The scent of pine,

Where trails intwine,

On a root filled forest bed,

Amongst the fog,

In the forest bog,

Where riders are summoned to shred.

The summit is your target,

To reach it is your aim,

The goal you seek,

To reach the peak,

And rip right down again.

Beyond the bikers battlefield,

Descend with mighty pace,

Rubber side down,

The mountain frowns,

As your carving down it's face.

Aloft the devil's playground,

Adrenaline your fuel,

Let the battle commence,

For great prominence,

Man & mountain United to dual.

There is a location,

With such admiration,

Abundance of bikers arrive,

It's a place that I know,

All aught to go,

A place where you know your alive.

South wales it stands,

The most wholesome of lands,

Up high for the sky to acknowledge,

Tho like dark tales,

Know bike park Wales,

Leaves you shook up

but somewhat astonished.

User

Can't wait to go back! The 350 mile drive was absolutely worth it. Never felt like we had to wait long for the uplift; was really impressed with the number of busses and how frequently they ran. Barely noticed they stopped for lunch. Speaking of lunch, the cafe food was great too!

User

Best place to ride in the UK!

Massive range of trails, all well kept.

User

Awesome set up and great staff. Couldn't recommend enough. X

User

Amazing day at Bpw. the sun was out & the park was busy, the longest I waited for an uplift must have been a very long sixty seconds . All the staff are brilliant & helpful, my mate asked for a “flat white coffee” & the the lass said they didn’t do one, but she slammed the normal white coffee down on the counter & said “it’s flat now”, I nearly fell over laughing . The whole site is very well maintained, shop prices are good.

My only criticism is location, what you need to do is move the whole park up to Northumberland .

We will be back later on this year

User

Always incredible. People are sick thanks for the food, the care for my poorly bike today and the smiles

User

Always an excellent day out. The centre and staff are always welcoming and helpful. The trails are great and are always being improved or added too. A must if you’ve never been.

User

Absolutely loved it here... 2 days well used... my new favourite place to ride!! The whole atmosphere was just fab, managed all the blues and some reds with ease and confidence... they were awesome, and gave me just enough challenge to get a real buzz...just gutted we was there just 2 days before the new lines opened... although it’s perfect excuse to head back sooner rather than later, can’t wait!!

User

1st time at BPW, what can I say....absolutely awesome !

Fantastic facilities, nice little on site bike shop and the cafe serves better than expected grub !

The uplift Service is super well organised and trust me, it’s worth booking it to fully enjoy the day !!

We Traveled down from Sheffield, so was it worth it ?......Hell yeah, can we go back NOW

User

Trails are amazing and the staff are pleasant, but the uplifts are shocking! Never had to wait so long for an uplift then when it arrives it takes another 10 mins to load the bikes up, I understand there's a few bikes that need securing but maybe a few signs or demos showing people how to load bikes properly would save a hell of a lot of time. Only managed 7 uplifts, which for the amount of trails you have just wasn't enough. Loved the trails but the uplift sucked!

User

Fantastic trails, and the facilities are the best of any bike park (but still needs an extra few toilets). Didn't try the cafe this time but was excellent last time. Probably the best uplift/bike park in the UK for when the weather is damp!

I'd give it 5 stars but this is my second visit here and both times now I've found the same issues still remain.

Firstly how is the uplift system still so bad? Nowhere else has these issues. Today waiting over 20 minutes from queue to van leaving before we even get to the top isn't on. Today There was zero help or assistance for those who have never loaded bikes on before to the trailers meaning the driver's spend ages checking everyone's bikes over further delaying the ride. I feel like you spend more time waiting to uplift than riding? I'm sure one day this will be sorted or being sorted now?

Trail closures, I fully get trails wear out but both times I've been on a Friday and both times trails have been shut all day, last time dai hard and this time insufficient funds. It's the start of a bank holiday weekend and really expect the major trails to be fully open? Can't have everything but be nice to get the main trails all running for a weekend unless there's something seriously wrong with them.

User

4th visit to the park. Possibly my last...

The trail to the uplift needs a lot of work. It’s design to be a flow and warm up trail has gone. Brake bumps everywhere. Ruts and all sorts. Didn’t enjoy it like before.

The trails seem to be blending together. Hard to explain but it felt like I rode the same gravel rutty sloppy runs regardless of name and colour red or blue.

The burgers this time were a huge hit. Chips are

Uplift ran really well.

Overall the trails seemed tired and worn out. They need a lot of work before you build new ones and expand the park.

User

Classic Bike park wales - turn up at 5pm Thursday night. The entire 20+ staff in a coms meeting leaving 1 knowledgeable but 18 year old lad in the shop on his own. Tells us he can’t leave the shop and doesn’t really know how long the meeting will last. Mates wheel needs sorting and he does his best under the circumstances. Meanwhile the trailer has had a blow out and the driver can’t get hold of anyone back at base! The lady at the desk charges me £20 tells me nothing about the Half open run down to the uplift (watch out for the cones!) - other closures to note, not informed.

User

Disgusted at being charged an additional £8 for my day pass because my bike is an e-bike. You are discriminating against disabled. Will not return. Was told it is because I would do more runs than a normal bike, well guess what I didn’t because A. I was with my friends and B. My battery would not have lasted anyway.

Great Day at BPW! amazing variety of trails all in good condition and loads of flow! good food, good uplift!

User

You could complain about the effeciency of the uplift but i can still got 7-8 runs on one day as a slow rider with a puncture. There is now denying that this amount of world class tracks for every rider doesn't come anywhere else in britain and the trails there always leave me buzzing. Such a rad place.

First time here and absolutely loved it. So much so I have booked to come back in may. Loved insufficient funds and sixstapod. Great trails guys keep up the good work

Fantastic improvement!!!! I've visited many times and have been dissapointed with not enough vans...long queues and shut down at lunch time BUT it's all changed...for the better. On Friday there were 9 uplift vans and half of them carried on through lunchtime. The daily riding pass has jumped up from £7 to £10. The only suggestion that I have BPW is that I notice changes to trails where you add a much bigger drop e.g. Rim dinger which surprised me but I was committed and had to go over. A few months ago it wasn't as big. How about if you change any features you put a big board just outside the main entrance letting people know. I think that would be a big help. Not a criticism...just a suggestion. Thank you for yet another amazing day. The improvements are great and noticeable.

DOWN THE DEVIL'S PLAYGROUND

By Daniel Ayres

The scent of pine,

Where trails intwine,

On a root filled forest bed,

Amongst the fog,

In the forest bog,

Where riders are summoned to shred.

The summit is your target,

To reach it is your aim,

The goal you seek,

To reach the peak,

And rip right down again.

Beyond the bikers battlefield,

Descend with mighty pace,

Rubber side down,

The mountain frowns,

As your carving down it's face.

Aloft the devil's playground,

Adrenaline your fuel,

Let the battle commence,

For great prominence,

Man & mountain United to dual.

There is a location,

With such admiration,

Abundance of bikers arrive,

It's a place that I know,

All aught to go,

A place where you know your alive.

South wales it stands,

The most wholesome of lands,

Up high for the sky to acknowledge,

Tho like dark tales,

Know bike park Wales,

Leaves you shook up

but somewhat astonished.
