For the school holidays we are serving food between 12-3 and between 5-9pm

Very pleasant stay at the Black Lion Hotel. Efficient, friendly and prompt service at reception, bedroom decor looked newly decorated (room 8) and bathroom spacious with acceptable shower pressure. Dinner in restaurant was beautiful for all 4 of us dining which was reasonably priced. Waiters and bar staff friendly and looked happy considering there at work � Nights sleep was comfortable and hotel was nice and warm all throughout the night. Breakfast was bountiful with everything on offer including pastries, fruit, yogurt, cereal and of course the full Welsh (English) hot breakfast with juice, tea and coffee. I look forward to returning in the summer �

So pleased we stayed here. Clean, friendly, polite staff and great service. Positioned beautifully. Ensuite Bedroom furnished to a high standard. Super breakfast. Our evening meal in the restaurant was superb. Beautifully cooked fresh food and reasonably priced. I would highly recommend and will definitely stay here again. Thank you.

Really nice pub/restaurant. Quite stark inside with white walls and oak tables but very fitting and a refreshing change from the pub-by-numbers joints that so many have become. The service was incredibly efficient and friendly. We were asked if we wanted to try the beer before we ordered it. Food was a real step up in quality from the other places in town. My beef chilli was delicious, using proper slow cooked chunks of beef rather than mince. The lasagne was also good as were the home cooked chips (not tasteless frozen ones used elsewhere). Very impressed and would happily come back.

Me and my hubby have holidayed a few times in new quay visited the black lion on every visit and always said we would like to stay here....and we did this weekend we had a lovely time the room we stayed in was prob the nicest room weve stayed in and a sea view,breakfast was v good and we ate there both evenings food was gorgeous...a very nice place to stay not the cheapest i mite add but was worth it we will def stay with you again thanks we had a great time!

Hands down the nicest Sunday roast I've ever had! Went today for Father's Day with my husband and two boys. The service was great, the place is spotless and the garden overlooking the sea with the kids climbing frames is fab. Oh and did I mention the food was amazing!!!

Had a lovely stay had been here before and loved it!! really nice beer garden. Rooms are very nice clean and tidy bar staff are very friendly and polite breakfast was nice would definitely book to stay in the black lion hotel again.

Friendly, clean. Only popped in for a drink on our day out. Lady behind bar helped with the drinks so I didn't have to carry them. Beer garden with a view to die for. Definitely we are going to try food there. Parents liked it.

Fabulous views from the garden and one of a very few left that have equipment for the children to play on. Enjoyed drinks in the sun which were great and very friendly staff.

Beautiful well kept pub with a large beer garden over looking the sea. Food like always was fantastic. Well done keep up the good work.

An absolutely gorgeous place. Incredibly comfortable beds with lovely soft sheets. Fantastic choice of delicious food on the menu. Genuinely friendly and helpful staff.

All in all I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone and anyone.

Amazing place well worth a visit guys

Amazing homemade food, have eaten here all week and was never disappointed. Lovely beer garden with amazing views and play area. Good portion sizes too. Only negative was the specials board was the same all week and sold out. Would recommend to anyone visiting the area 😄

A great find, great friendly staff and superb food with a great beer garden with superb views over new quay .

4 of us had sirloin steaks...different sides.....all steaks cooked to a exact standard...salad on 3 had tasty dressing...4th chose no dressing.....everything was really perfect.we were served by two different lads....but each one were friendly and polite. We would definitely recommend this place....different beers....lots of good local banter... perfect
