Black Lion (Permanently Closed)

This is an excellent hotel, with friendly staff and excellent service.
We have stayed here regularly over the last ten years and always enjoyed our stay.
The hotel is the heart of the town and needs your support as it is under the threat of closure. This must not happen.

Very dated ,could do with a good clean...Staff very friendly and helpful but not enough staff on duty..
Food was alright...

Polite service. Although no water provided in room. Not so clean although bedding was bathroom wasn't cleaning and water was not available neither was the replacement of light bulbs.

i was absolutely disgusted with everything the staff were useless i dont know who your employing they didnt seem to care about there customers went there for lunch today first there had to wait over an hour for our food people got served before us which isnt good customer service ended up havin my food in take out cartons because didnt have time to eat it and it had been sitting on the side before it even got to our table and it obviously was cold it not a very good way to run a business i was really angry paid nearly 25 pound for cold food which i couldnt even enjoy at the table wont be recommending to eat there to anyone diabolicale

It's ok, but the service is really slow. You feel that there doing it because they have too. Food is good tho

Unstaffed overnight and faulty locks on the door. Shocking place.

Good location. Plenty to see & do in area . Staff are exceptionally friendly & helpful. Lovely cosy pub really warm & welcoming. Excellent breakfast & reasonably priced. Owners are updating the rooms but to be honest place is fine.
