Location was very easy to find but nice and quiet in the countryside. Service was remarkable and couldn't fault anything at all

Conveniently located about three miles outside Hay-on-Wye, in a pretty location. There's a bar and restaurant with a separate building with accommodation set around a gravel courtyard.

Staff were quick, efficient, friendly and knowledgeable, particularly about the best bookshops in Hay.

The bar and restaurant had an extensive wine list. The food was very well cooked and presented. Quality over quantity.

The room was clean and comfortable with modern decor. Shower cubicle had plenty of hot water.

I've removed a star because of the loud creaking floor boards in the room above us when they moved around was very loud and there was no wifi at all in the accommodation building. As phone signal (on EE at least) was non-existent, this meant we were completely offline. This might be an advantage for some, but as there wasn't a 24 hour reception or a landline in the room, I couldn't help wondering what you'd do in an emergency.

Very nice Bar / Restaurant. Upmarket, yet happy enough to serve muddy walkers. Excellent cup of tea too.
