Blaenafon Cheddar Company Description
Our specialist cheddar company was established in the World Heritage town of Blaenafon in South Wales on December 2nd 2006.
Now nearing the final few months of our 5th year we can take a look back at what we have achieved in such a small period of time and wonder how we did it.
The company is owned by Susan Fiander-Woodhouse & her husband Grrry Woodhouse. The company is run on the day to day basis by Susan Fiander-Woodhouse, Gerry organises stock, deliveries & is the company engineer and also runs the Mountain Tours side of the business. The other 3 members of this family business are;
Terence Hill (son) who is Production Manager
Charlotte Heal (daughter) who is the Customer Services Manager
Adam Green (son inlaw) who is Planning Manager.
As well as producing award winning cheeses, the company also prides itself in the work it does for international tourism for Wales.
This involves exhibiting at many major events & festivals, working with TV & Media worldwide and always being on duty even on days off!
Even after a major head injury on November 3rd 2010 Susan has still strived to be an ambassador, although struggling with mixed up words, part facial paralysis and fatigue.
Celebrating her 50th birthday in style at Caerphilly Big Cheese Race, she entertained the spectators with a Super Heros extravaganza.
