Well where do I begin! What a lovely hostess Kate is! A breath of fresh air with a totally new outlook on service. Lush food as always! Bar service much improved! Always a pleasure to visit such a great pub! �

The staff vey good meal was good might pop there for Sunday lunch

Great night catching up with mates,beer went down well,great menu.

Beautiful Sunday lunch and steak was lovely, service was good and not a long wait will definitely go back ��

Gone right downhill lately.not usual standard ofservice.lot of original staff have left.However visited on 1st of august and things have improved very much.serms to be a new manager in place who is getting it ship shape again.doing a great job!

Carvery is pretty decent but their strawberry icecream was awful. Tom the manager is a decent bloke though will go out of his way to help you in any way possible.

Called in for a meal with my two children. Pub was quite busy but we received quick service. Food lovely and hot too

Always a lovely atmosphere in there and a lovely meal every time only slight issue was We wasn’t sure if the pubs Bain Marie on the carvery was turned up high enough , we a had a lovely carvery last week when we sat down almost straight away and the food wasn’t that hot as usual but tasted and all cooked lovely

Used to love the place but was most disappointed yesterday when took my son daughter_in_law and grandchildren. Food was undercooked, barmaid behind the bar needs customer service training. Not a very happy person am I.

Waited 55 minutes for our meal, when it did turn up, the sides were either wrong or missing so we had to wait even longer. The beer garden is a no go area if you have any kind of chest complaint or if you'd rather not have your food, drink and children bathed in cigarette smoke. This is a matter I will be taking up within the disability discrimination act, as anyone on oxygen cannot use the beer garden. Tables were dirty from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. My gammon was 40% fat or gristle. The corn on the cob was inedible due to it having dried out. The waitress was so chaotic that there was no chance of tracking her down to mention any of our problems. This place was excellent when it opened. It has gone down hill very fast.

Usual welcome from the bar staff was good . We sat down at a table to find a different menu ( have not been for ages ) and found The menu was cheap and nasty compared to previous menus ( it felt if I was choosing off a kids menu as it was so thing! Please please please go back to your old menu design it was so much better ) I had the butter milk burger that was 3 buttermilk goujons in a bun, but the buttermilk goujons where basically southern fried goujons in a bun! On the menu it state “buttermilk goujons so you expect it not to be spicy So why does it say butter milk and not southern fried. as basically that’s what it is, a southern fried goujon chicken burger !



It seems if you have been Down graded to the menu band below ( for example from pub favourites to every day value )

This place used to be fairly good, but it has definitely gone downhill. The place was massively understaffed, with only one person serving on the bar (which was very busy). We waited for ages just to find someone to ask for a 2 for £10 menu as they don't put them out on the tables for some reason, ended up cleaning the table ourselves and when I asked for regular Pepsi wasn't told that this wasn't available anymore on unlimited and was given Pepsi Max twice (I wouldnt've bothered ordering unlimited drinks if I had known this). It's also very annoying to have go wait at the bar whilst you're trying to eat your meal to refill your unlimited drinks, when most places just have a drinks station.

Steak was way over cooked (asked for medium rare and got well done). Waitress didn't check meals and was in la la land the entire time. When I asked for some foil to take leftover meat for my dog, she nodded and never returned. Asked bar staff and then said they don't have foil....seriously...you just brought food out with foil on?! Will never go here again, bad service, poorly cooked food...no thanks!

Sorry but there won't be another visit for me. Came a few years back when newly opened and it was passable. Came a few months after that and it was a disaster. Waited hours for decent service and meals and when they arrived they were atrocious. It put me off coming back but it was under new management and family had come and enjoyed it so we decided to come back but unfortunately it was ground hog day. Starters came out in a reasonable time but with one missing. It was a kids garlic bread that they didnt really want so didnt kick up a fuss but its the principle, we had paid for something we didnt get.Mains took an age, we're missing the cheese from the burgers and frankly would've preferred McDonald's. Desert never showed at all because apparently no record of it despite all being ordered together. Not worth waiting 45mins for a brownie. Food and prices do not justify 2 hours of your life being lost. Sorry, I gave it a go but never again.

Edited to add, one member of staff was working her tail off behind bar, serving food, taking plates so props to her she earned her pay!

Roast potatoes on dinner were awful Yorkshire puddings had a funny taste to them only one person at bar when there was a lot off people waiting to order no staff on floor other than one waitress and toilet floors are very sticky and slippery won't be back again!!!

My local pub is struggling at the moment. Not enough staff i can feel the pain the staffs faces as they struggle to keep punters happy when theres a que of 15 people. not a nice environment. Happy to change my review if things change

Just had to walk out because we’ve been waiting at the bar for 20 minutes waiting to be served. One guy is debating with the staff because they have no change in the till to give him, 2 girls serving on the bar yet there are over 10 people waiting to be served.



Blaina Wharf management you seriously need to review staffing levels and complaints because your reviews are beyond a joke from reading them. How can you still be getting customers if all your reviews are due to being understaffed or unable to give good customer service. This isn’t the first time we have witnessed poor management at your restaurant, last time we came tables couldn’t be cleaned because of how stretched your staff were at the bar.

Havnt visited here since valentines day a couple of years ago was very annoyed as they advertised thier valentine menu so we booked .when we got there wasnt a heart or flower in sight and when i complained i was told they did all that the day before and should have come then....but hang on yesterday wasnt valentines day ..anyway been looking forward to a carvery ...went in found a table on our own ...sat 20 mins with previous customers dirty dishes asked twice to have them removed so started stacking them up by myself 3rd attempt they were removed ...went to get the carvery and it didnt look very nice ...we had the beef ..sat down couldnt even cut the meat it was so tough ..the beans were tough and stringy..the roast potatoes could have been used as weopons in the hunger games they were that hard and dry looked like they were days old ...fair dos though they can cook peas..so we complained about the quality of the meat which they changed ...we then couldnt find any cutley all the stations were empty ..attempted to ask the same waiter twice who completely ignored me and went to do something else finally the barman found some 15 mins later and our food was cold...not once did anyone come over and ask us if everything was ok ...very poorly run ...food awfull and will never eat there again id rather go to mcdonalds

Got there & the table wasn’t even set up that I booked we cued for ages to get drinks, then as we all went back up to order one of my family ordered a steak and they said it was the last one but a few of the family didn’t like roast dinners or anything else, so we cued back up to ask for a refund and the staff member was rude and serving other people who just got to the bar as we was waiting ages there were only (two staff) serving behind the bar and it’s was really busy
